Chasmosaurus (chas·mo·saur·us) was a ceratopsian dinosaur from Canada in the Cretaceous. Its name means 'opening lizard', referring to the large openings in its frill (Greek khasma/χάσμα meaning 'opening' or 'hollow' or 'gulf' and sauros/σαῦρος meaning 'lizard').
