A useful set of six promotional vintage espresso cups and saucers produced by the infamous «Bisquit» Cognac producer; these were given to French cafés and bars to promote their produce. In France, it is not unusual to add spirits to your morning or evening coffee. This set is extremely useful and could be used everyday. The cups and saucers are glazed white on the inside, beige/brown on the outside with the «Bisquit» brand printed on each of the cups and saucers. To the saucer base three are stamped made in France and the number 6 to the remainder. Each cup measures: Height 5.6cm Diameter 6cm Weight 160-170g Each saucer measures: Diameter 12.2cm Height 2cm Weight 160-170g The cups are in good vintage condition, the cups are perfect there are no chips or cracks, there is some minor crazing to a couple of the sauces. One of the saucers has a chip to the underside and to another there is some minor loss of glaze to the underside of the saucer. Some history obtained from the website of Bisquit - Founded by Alexandre Bisquit in 1819, the house of 'Bisquit', with its home at the Château de Lignères by the banks of the Charente River, had a long-standing family tradition until the house was sold to Pernod Ricard in 1966.
