from The Annunciation By John Lu Hung-nien Chinese Catholic artist Lu Hungrian, also known as John Lu Hung-nien (1919-1989), was part of The New Cultural Movement in early 20th Century China, a mixture of East and West. In particular, Hung-nien mixed Chinese techniques with Catholic themes to enrich Chinese culture. Additionally, and more importantly, his aim was to create the experience of the sacred. This painting is part of the “Angel Series,” of which this is our favorite. We love the delicacy of the image. It is a beautiful representation of the Annunciation in a way we are not used to. This painting, from which we have selected only a portion, was painted in 1948 in Beijing, China, towards the end of the Communist Revolution, which places it outside of copyright law. The original painting is Chinese watercolor on silk, mounted as hanging scroll. 28.5x53 cm. (source: researchgate.net and usfca.edu) ** IMPORTANT ** THE IMAGE IS SMALLER THAN THE PAPER! There is a white border of about 0.5" inch for 5x7", 1.3" for 8.5x11", or 1.6" for 11x14" pictures. All Approx! Fine art printers do this because the images are almost never the same rectangular ratio of the standard paper sizes. It also gives the prints a finished look, and lets them look good in a frame without a matt. – Acid-free paper – Archival pigments, rated to last for generations. – Cardboard backer – Above story of the art – Enclosed in a tight-fitting, crystal clear bag. Bob Dylan nearly crossed over to the Christian music industry in the late seventies. He had just announced his conversion to Christianity in ’79 and proceeded to release a total of three albums based on his newfound faith. He spent several years touring and preaching from stage, but was never fully accepted by Christian music fans…
Love over verses. Shouldn't that always be the way? If anyone has ever used a Bible verse to justify mistreating you, I made this LGBTQ Christian print to empower you. I’m so sick of people weaponizing a book written more than 3000 years ago. The Bible is a source of strength and empowerment for some people, and I’m happy for them! But it can be evil in the wrong hands. Hang this gay cartoon art up as a reminder that someone else’s translation of what the Bible is trying to say does not define you. • Paper thickness: 10.3 mil • Paper weight: 5.57 oz/y² (189 g/m²) • Giclée printing quality • Opacity: 94% • ISO brightness: 104% ********************************************* More than just cartoons... I’m honored that you’ve found my cartoons. I ship these all over the world - here’s a bit about what makes them so special. I love that these cartoons are powerful and effective. They speak louder than words and go straight to the heart. There's no time to scramble for an argument. It's too late. You can't unsee them. I could write a million-word argument in support of LGBTQ+ rights and most people would scroll past. But if I draw a cartoon showing Jesus loving an LGBTQ+ Sheep, no words are necessary and the point gets across loud and clear. Basically, they’re more than just cartoons. They inspire, provoke, and start difficult conversations. They don’t just sit on your walls; one frame at a time, they’re making a difference. Thank you for being here and enjoying these special cartoons with me.

In this beautiful holy card, we have St. Hildegard of Bingen receiving visions from the Holy Spirit. She wrote and illustrated them in her Scivias. The harp is shown because besides a writer, she was also a great composer of music. The lilies in Christian art usually mean faith and chastity, but in this case they also indicate that she was a great botanist. The Latin at the bottom translates to “The Splendor of the Holy Spirit is Illustrated by All the Ways of Revelation” St. Hildegard was a prophet. She was also a Benedictine abbess, writer, poet, botanist, and composer who lived an astonishing life in 12th-century Germany. She had numerous prophetic and mystical visions during her lifetime and is reported to have been a miracle worker. She advised Popes. Her art and music are still enjoyed and admired today. She has recently been canonized and made a Doctor of the Church. (source: abtei-st-hildegard.de) ** IMPORTANT ** THE IMAGE IS SMALLER THAN THE PAPER!
