It's Rudolph Day and I remembered!! Last month on Rudolph's Day, the 25th of every month, I shared how I changed some of my Christmas decorations into Winter and Valentine's Day Decorations........ Click HERE if you missed it. This month, I will share the rest of those decorations with you...... I left up the 7 foot tree in the Living Room that looked like this for Christmas..... I re-decorated it for Valentine's Day..... And I also left up the 7 foot slim tree in the Dining Room that looked like this for Christmas.... And turned it also into a Valentine's Day Tree.... These 2 trees are now packed up and stored in our Storage Shed , waiting for next Christmas season..... Last month, I showed you the 4 foot Tree that I had in the Den re-decorated for Valentine's Day.... It has now been turned into a St. Patrick's Day Tree..... After St. Patrick's Day, this tree will also be packed up and stored away until next Christmas season..... But I still have this Tree waiting in the wings to make an appearance..... Remember how it was decorated for Christmas in my Guest Room.... Here it is waiting to be moved down into the Living Room ......... But you will have to wait until next month to see it all decorated for Easter in all it's finery!! Slowly, most of the "Christmas" decorations are being packed up and stored away. But I have managed to get several months use out of a lot of the decorations instead of only several weeks..... Even the outside, which was decorated for Winter, was tweaked to celebrate Valentine's Day..... A Valentine Wreath on the door..... A string of red lights added to the garland..... And a red lighted heart in the window.... My Winter outside decorations will soon be getting packed away too....... Once all the snow melts!! So I hope I have showed you how you can stretch out the length of time that you use your "Christmas" decorations and keep that warm glow in your home through out the dark deary Winter...... And sometimes beyond..... HAPPY RUDOLPH DAY!!! Description Rockwell was a masterful storyteller who could distill a narrative into a single frame. His pictures tell stories about the adventure of growing up, of individuals rising up to face personal challenges, the glamour of Hollywood and the importance of tolerance in American life. He created his pictures with strategies similar to those used by filmmakers. The exhibition is based on new research into Rockwell, his work and the relationships between the artist and the movies. It showcases fifty-seven major Rockwell paintings and drawings from these private collections. Telling Stories is organized by Virginia M. Mecklenburg, senior curator. Line a 20 x 20 / 8 x 8 inch baking pan with parchment paper. In a small bowl, combine together flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside. In a large bowl, combine together butter and sugar and beat with a mixer until light and fluffy. Stir in the flour mixture and mix just until incorporated. Spread into the pan and bake for 15-18 minutes or until lightly golden brown. Let cool completely. 2) To make the filling, combine together butter, sugar, corn syrup and condensed milk in a saucepan. Heat, stirring occasionally, until the butter in melted and the mixture looks smooth. Bring to boil and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens a bit and turns amber color. Spread onto the shortbread layer and let cool completely. Transfer into the fridge for a few hours or overnight. 2) To make the chocolate glaze, combine together butter and corn syrup in a small saucepan and heat until the butter is melted. Remove from heat, add chocolate and stir until melted. Pour over the condensed milk layer immediately. Cool completely before cutting into squares. For the best results, slice only after chilling for a few hours. Recipe adapted from here.

If you look at your dictionary or Wikipedia, you may find kitsch defined as ‘gaudy, cheap, and tacky.’ This description does not to justice to the international phenomenon we fondly know as kitsch. A word borrowed from the German language, its orginal meaning has it associated with tackiness and trashiness. Yet it is also fresh, funky and fabulous. You can find it all over the world, emboying different media and styles. There is a quirky kind of magic to it, an irrestible charm if you get to know it. What does it mean to you? Is there even such a thing as ‘too kitsch’ or ‘too much kitsch’? No! Of course not. I know it was alot of pictures, and thanks for looking!!! Sweet Noodle Kugel Kugel: 500g (17.5 oz) noodles 56g (1/2 stick) butter 6 eggs 500g (17.5 oz) cottage cheese 345g (1 1/2 cup) sour cream 80ml (1/3 cup) light cream 225g (1 cup) white sugar 120g (4 oz) raisins Topping: 4 tbsp breadcrumbs 3 tbsp sugar 2 tsp cinnamon 1) Cook noodles according to directions (Add a splash of oil into the boiling water before cooking to prevent noodles from sticking together). Once cooked, rinse under cold water for 1 minute. Drain well. 2) Preheat oven to 190C / 375F. Lightly grease a deep metal square baking pan and set aside. 3) In a small bowl, combine together the topping ingredients and set aside. 4) In a large saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Turn off the heat and let cool slightly. Beat in the eggs, cottage cheese, sour cream, light cream and sugar. Mix everything well. Add in the noodles and raisins and stir to combine. 5) Pour the mixture into the baking dish. Sprinkle with breadcrumb/sugar mixture. 6) Bake for approximately 1 hour. You may check the Kugel after 45-50 minutes. If the center looks a little bit runny but the edges are brown and firm, you may remove it from the oven. It will firm up while cooling. 7) Let cool for 15 minutes before slicing. Serve warm or cold. Recipe by collecting memories
