Book Review: A rhyming text with vivid descriptions of life in tidepools, from sea stars, to anemones, to barnacles.
Help your child create a beautiful underwater scene complete with fish, sand, shells, and seaweed! This craft is neat because it incorporates lots of child-crafting techniques: painting, gluing, cutting, and arranging. The end result is bright and colorful and so darn cute! Special Requests: The fish parts come on pre-printed scrapbook paper for easy cutting. Your child will just need to follow the lines to cut out the oval, triangle, and trapezoid shapes. It's great scissor practice! However, if your child has not quite learned to use scissors, I can cut out the shapes in advance. Just let me know in the "Message to the Seller" part of check out. With this kit, all of the planning and organizing of the materials has already been done for you. Some materials may differ slightly, but all will coordinate nicely. Easy step-by-step instructions with color photographs and most materials are included. *For this kit, you will need to supply scissors and a crayon (optional if your child would like to add a smiley mouth to the fish). *Each kit contains materials for 1 Fish Aquarium and comes in a super cute reusable plastic box (shown in the last two pictures). *This kit is appropriate for ages 3 (with adult help) and up. *Contains some parts (small shells, wiggly eyes, non-toxic acrylic paint, round piece of plastic ziploc) that may not be suitable for your younger crafters, please be careful. If you are working with a younger crafter, just let me know in the "Message to the Seller" part of checkout and I won't include the plastic ziploc piece, or you can throw it away when you receive the kit. Although it will be glued onto the craft, a child could remove it if he or she tried hard enough. This is to be used as decoration, it is not a toy. Have I scared you off yet? It's a super cute craft, you just need to know your kid and be careful. My 3-year-old daughter made one and I tacked it way up high on her wall so she couldn't get to it. She thinks it great! Kid Kits are perfect to give to caregivers or grandparents to do with your kids! Kid Kits are also great for original birthday presents, party favors, and rainy day treats. Make your life easier! I also make class and party sets!

Happy Friday! I'm still working away in my room. I had a meeting all day long, so I didn't accomplish much. But I'm not freaking out...not at all! So as promised, here is the entryway to my room. The kids' cubbies are right inside the door. I covered the bulletin board in the same burlap that I used outside and added an owl that I made a few years ago. I'm going to put our class pledge up there so that it's the first thing people see when they come in the room. I will write the pledge with the kids on the first day of school. The little banner is for our gold stars. Our school hands out gold stars as a whole-class reward for walking quietly in the hall or doing a great job in the cafeteria, library, etc. (They come from other teachers and adults in the school--not me.) When we get 10, we get a treat, like lunch in the classroom or pajama day. Every time we get a star, I clip it to the banner. The numbers help the kids quickly see how many more stars we need to get our prize. Bonus--it really helps...
