Each caravan has a chimney, windows, a door and wheels. Texture on the roof created using a vintage lace. If you like camping in a motorhome, caravan or tent then this caravan looks lovely lit up on your camp table in the evening! Caution: the caravan will be hot at the top half if using a tea light. For safety I recommend rechargeable tea lights.

These miniature bonfires begin their journey in Western New York. Each bonfire sits on top of a wooden disc that has been hand cut (wooden edge shows on bottom of disc). A compilation of hand cut sticks, dried moss and stones make up the bonfire. Each bonfire comes with a brand new flickering tea light that fits underneath each disc base. The hole on the bottom of each disc is slightly oversized so that you can replace the tea light when needed. The diameter of the bonfire is around 3.5-4 inches and the height is 2-3 inches. Each bonfire comes with two handmade faux mini marshmallows on sticks! All of our wood has been dried and treated to prevent any transfer of insects or fungus. Finished product has been sprayed. Extreme weather such as heat/sun/rain may not be suitable for bonfire as glue may detach. There are some variations in each custom bonfire, as we use birch, maple, ash, locust and poplar for base. This is our best seller. Can be used for a topper, for a decoration, a gift, for a fairy garden or for a conversation starter on a desk. Not recommended for little ones under 5. If you would like multiples, we will customize an order for you. Or, if you would like something hand-burned on the bottom of the bonfire disc we can do that too. Limit of 5-8 words please as bottom of disc is a small area to burn on.

If you watch the news then you know we have had record rain here in North Texas for the month of May. The gardens are growing in and outside of the classroom, but enough is enough! My fifth graders just finished these amazing one day pinch pots.... They used Sax underglaze with a clear coat to finish last week. It is hard to get the clay to dry out and find a non stormy day to run the kiln this month! We have had 3 inches of rain on Saturday.... not to mention the amount falling right now. my little garden is lush... but it needs some sunlight to ripen the tomatoes. Third Grade is working on their last project.... We looked at Rufino Tamayo's paintings and drew repeated slices with oil pastels. 12 x 18 white sulfite paper Sax tempera cakes love these...I know I pinned this idea from Pinterest but can't find the pin.. Thanks to whoever originally posted this lesson. I was also treated to the Teacher of the year dinner last week with many of my long time teacher friends and family. my girls Art Teachers! My Family... 11 more days then stay tuned for Summer School Art!

I'm always on the lookout for simply yet awesome clay projects - and this one is inspired by Cassie Stephens! On the first day I went through my now standard "Journey of Clay" PowerPoint with my students and we talked about the four main ways of building with clay: slab, coil, pinching, and wheel. Afterwards I showed my students how to use my slab roller to flatten their chunk of clay into a lovely "sheet of clay" (aka - slab), then each student got to try it out themselves. Once they had their slab, students cut any shape they wanted into their clay and then pressed some texture into it (I have a ga'gillion texture plates now - I went a little crazy on Amazon). Once they had that done I had them put up their clay, clean up their spot, then wash their hands. On the second day I demo'ed how to roll out a coil, create a letter, and then properly attach it to a slab using the score and slip method. Students could create 1-3 letters to add to their slab. Then they used a straw to poke two holes into the top of their slab (to hang them later). After a few days of drying out, I bisque fired the clay in my kiln. Then during my students next rotation (about a month later) we got down to decorating! I wasn't sure what I wanted my kids to paint with. Normally we just use tempera, but I was worried that it might cover up the texture too much, so instead we used oil pastels and watercolor paints. It's a technique that I've always wanted to try anyways, so I thought what the heck. Once their clay pieces were dry, students added pipe cleaners and beads to make their clay slab into a lovely hanging decoration.
