About A very finely made German porcelain cabinet plate with a pierced patterned and rim and hand painted with floral designs made by the renowned Royal Porcelain Factory, Berlin around 1890. The factory in Berlin is one of the most renowned producers of fine porcelain and was founded by Fredrick the Great (King Frederick II of Prussia) in 1763. The quality of work is comparable to Meissen and is equally highly cherished and prized by collectors. The round shaped plate stands raised on a narrow round unglazed foot rim and has a raised edge with a pierced gothic style design around the rim. The plate is hand painted with a border of small blue and green floral sprigs set against a gilded ground with a large central finely painted bouquet of flowering blooms in wonderful detail and color. With further gilding applied around the edge and to the pierced elements the plate has a blue underglaze sceptre mark to the base along with various impressed marks. Provenance: acquired from the British Art market. In good condition with light gilding rub.
