Collage artist Guillame Chiron combines myths of the wild west and mid-century domestic life in humorous collages. Playing with scale and context, Chiron inserts oversized humans into urban landscapes, or shrinks down people to fit astride cats or on meteors in the galaxy. Chiron has also published a book of 250 collages. You can see more of the French artist’s collages on Tumblr and Instagram. (via Lustik) More

Collage artist Eugenia Loli is originally from Greece and is currently based in California. Loli uses vintage magazine clippings, advertisements, and erotica to cobble together otherworldly scenes that often have a sense of humor. Through out her work, she indulges her viewers with lush and opulent imagery: verdant mountains, exotic flowers, curvaceous bodies, and iridescent galaxies. If advertisements promise their viewers happiness, Loli offers us an immaculate utopia. With so much eye candy, her work prioritizes visual pleasure above all else.
About Maria Rivans is a contemporary British artist, known for her scrapbook-style collage aesthetic. A mash-up of Surrealism meets Pop-Art, Rivans’s work re-appropriates vintage ephemera to create dreamy realms, which transport the viewer into fantastical worlds of the imaginary. Each one finished with a dusting of subtle humor. In her pin-up series, Maria Rivans reclaims iconic femininity to champion female strength. Her exotic and escapist works are often laced with ominous undertones, to remind us of the darker side of human nature. Starring Jean Simmons - British starlet of 1950s fame - as ‘Joy’, an exuberant and sunny character, Rivans’s print has the heady buzz of spring about it. Filled with the joys of life, Joy sparkles in her feathered, off-the-shoulder collar and signature exotic headdress, which brims with flora, fauna, and fantastical fragments. A lover of nature and music, travelling and the simple pleasures of life, Joy wears her passions on her bounteous bonnet: vintage cars for speeding across countries; old-fashioned radios for tuning into meandering melodies; bumblebees signal her ecological activism; firecrackers for the vitality of life; the lull of the sea, sounding in the depths of pearly shells; and the soft wings of white birds for taking flight at the drop of a headdress. Through an intense attention to detail and an artistic sensitivity to color and composition, each of Rivans’ artworks is the product of months of careful deliberations and decisions, every tiny tweak necessary in the final formation. Maria Rivans works from her studio in Brighton and exhibits throughout the UK. Her work is also highly appreciated internationally. Her colorful collages can be seen from New York to Hong Kong. ''Joy'' has an edition of 60.

Collage artists are often confronted with questions of copyright and ownership. Can I take and use this image? If I do, when will cease to be someone else’s and become my own? Does such a line even exist? This project deals directly with these questions, employing a common theme –the colour yellow– to alter, and […]

As a visual art movement that emerged in the mid 1950s, **pop art** aims to emphasize the nature of things popular in our daily routine. In pop art, most artists use mechanical means of rendering techniques that downplay the expressive hand of the artist. Being an art movement, it has some expressive attributes other styles do not possess.

About Portrait collage of 1960s British cultural icon and model Twiggy encased in resin. The background features a collection of pop cultural magazine prints as well as the iconic Life Magazine logo in the upper left corner. Signed by the artist in the front lower right corner. Currently unframed, but options are available. Artist Biography (from the Artist himself): "I'm a native Houstonian and have been making art most of my life. I'm a mixed media abstract artist, abstract painter and collage artist who enjoys making all kinds of art using all types of materials and mediums. One day I'm painting abstracts and possibly the following few days I'll work on collages using cut and torn magazines. When I'm done with those I do a few pop art nostalgia style magazine covers. Essentially, Im an artist you can't categorize. I love to do it all. I was born to do this. I derive a lot of my inspiration from jazz when painting abstract art, The music of jazz has always been synonymous with abstract expressionist painting. I can feel the music actually guide me in a direction that is like a conductor of a big band. Hitting the high notes with a bold stroke of bright color or accents of muted tones. In my other work, collage, mixed media abstracts and such, i often use images I've taken around doing street photography. Print them, tear as needed, cut and paste."
