First part / next part It’s more of a POV of Dark Lord from the first part. It’s gonna be more story progressive in the next part, i promise.

Poster of the virgin Sophia This evocative image of Sophia or Wisdom describes her as ‘the heavenly and earthly Eve, the mother of all creatures in heaven and on earth’. It is a very positive description, as Eve usually had quite a bad press in the history of Christianity. There are many references to the Old and the New Testament, but the lower part of the image, with its small globes circling around a central globe inscribed with the word ‘Chaos’, is purely alchemical. To us, ‘chaos’ sounds alarming, but to alchemists it represented the primal form or matter that was full of potential and with which they could work in their laboratories. The crown worn by Sophia is characteristically topped by the symbol for the Philosopher’s Stone: ‘Der Stein der Weisen’, as we read left and right to the symbol in red. Illustration from: Geheime Figuren der Rosenkreuzer. Manuscript, before 1785. A system developed by social workers in the 1980s to help us reflect on and test our practice may come from a different era, but it remains as relevant now as then, writes Mike Cooper In the 1980s I worked on a book about the community/patch approach to social work as part of a group of collaborators, including the the late Gerry Smale, of …

Ana Soler project - part 1 Ana Soler project - part 2 Here's the finished product! Now the true challenge is having 6 classes a day and keeping students from swinging them all over the place. The only place that is messed up is where the two parabolas meet. They (and I blame myself for this also) didn't plan for two parabolas on the same graph and with a point of intersection set at a specific point on the grid...Notes for the future! I wanted a way to measure my students' learning individually with this project, so I gave them the following essay prompt. Now these are honors students, who have had a very consistent and strict English teacher for three years now, so I expected them to take an essay like this seriously, but in a format that they were used to. To hold them to a serious standard, I'm grading for both content and grammar. A fifth grader wanders into Miss Higgins’s room and asks, “What’re those tennis balls for?” Now, fifth graders are naturally quite inquisitive, so as you begin to explain, they ask more questions: “Why are the tennis balls numbered like that? What do the Xs and the little numbers mean? How do you know where to put them? How do you know how long to make them? How did you get it curved like that?” Write a response to this inquisitive kid in narrative form.
Let’s tackle one of the literary set’s favorite orthodoxies head on: that the world “needs stories.” "There is an enormous need," Jonathan Franzen declares in an interview with *Corriere della Sera* (there’s no escape these days), “for long, elaborate, complex stories, such as can only be written by an author concentrating alone, free from the deafening chatter of Twitter." But what is the nature of this need? What would happen if it wasn’t met?
