This book of quotations and poetry is a result of a life changing event where the author experienced a collapse while working as a Subsea engineer in the oil industry. A month after this existential crisis he started to meditate and shortly after started to experience what he later found out to be what is known as Spontaneous Kundalini Awakening. Kundalini (shakti) is described as a coiled force (energy) that resides at the base of the spine and may be awoken to initiate an opening and purifying process of the chakras (energy centers of the body), leading to enhanced sensory perception. It is by many described as a divine physical sensation, but at the same time involves a challenging cognitive process. Although Kundalini awakening is acknowledged in Eastern cultures it is still not recognized in Western society, where it typically within the field of psychiatry is dismissed as a delusionary experience. This phenomenon needs to be taken seriously and explored further to support those who experience it. Unfortunately for many it is still ignored despite the undisputable fact that the founder of Analytical Psychology - Carl Jung, acknowledged and introduced Kundalini to the West. For a purpose I presume. \"To activate the unconscious means to awaken the divine, the devi, Kundalini - to begin the development of the suprapersonal within the individual in order to kindle the light of the gods.\" Carl Jung, Princeton University, October 26th, 1932. The book is an honest expression of the journey of the author reflecting his altered perception of reality induced by the opening of the senses. Further an attempt to demystify the enigma of Kundalini awakening by presenting poetry reflecting the process. \"The key of silence opens the door of true knowledge.\" Author, Stavanger, Jan 15th 2011.

YIN YANG STONE SYMBOL ART 3500 B.C. This mystical Taoist symbol exposes the illusion of opposites. Polarity arises mutually, interdependent, tacitly interconnected and sharing a single field. Dualism is emergent, as is white light from colors. Light(yang)forms shadows as shadows shape light, both degrees of densities in the light/darkness spectrum. Anciently rendered as white and black fishes, they swirl as one chasing tails. The eyes are a connective component as magnetic poles share all points, and as sound/silence concentrically create each other. This is the true story of a living man who found the true God within himself. Not the idea of God, not a concept of what God might or should be, and certainly not the God that they were trying to sell in church, but rather a connective, intelligent energy and a body of knowledge that resides within and is available to each of us. Storytellers and poets at the time of the persecutions (fourteenth century) foretold that seven centuries of silence would pass before this old knowledge of truth would be reborn into a new world. The \"time of silence\" foretold has elapsed. Many events are and have taken place illustrating the fact that we have been living in spiritual darkness. Today, powerful, organized religions prefer fundamentalism and dogma over evidence and knowledge and, as a result, seek to impose narrow rules and regulations on others, which often results in others becoming opposed to their oppressive methods. Wouldn't it be nice if there was a loving spiritual approach to life which was surrounded by the highest ideals, which could be measured by science, and which goes all the way to provide meaningful answers to all of the perplexing questions of our time that remain inadequately answered by the dogma-based, institutionalized religions? Then there is Gnostic Spiritualism. Through knowledgeable enlightenment, we now know that everything is created and connected through spirit (energy), and each one of us can actively connect to, feel, and influence the energy that flows through us, creating a pathway of communication, influence, and understanding. Let me be your guide. Favorite quote: \"It's easier to build strong children than to repair broken men.\" - Frederick Douglass

Beyond the Purdah of the Mind pursues a feminist reading of four autobiographies by three Arab women writers in an attempt to address the objectification of Arab women's identities in the veil-discourse and the incarceration of their agency in the binary-thinking with its predication of voice on the clothing item of the veil, whose absence or existence is presumed to herald either liberation, emancipation and agency or oppression, suppression and silence. The book's argument is that contrary to popular thinking and Western stereotypes, Arab women speak through both the empowering silence of the hijab and the relationality of patriarchal connectivity to produce a connective Arab female' register of the self. The latter vocalize women's roles in the making of Arab modern identity and history in face of the divisive binarism of the self/other identity-politics and the destruction of masculine orchestrated wars.
