This book offers a new approach to imagination which brings its emotional, social, cultural, contextual and existential characteristics to the fore. Fantasy and imagination are understood as the human capacity to distance oneself from the here-and-now situation in order to return to it with new possibilities. To do this we use social-cultural means (e.g. language, stories, art, images, etc.) to conceive of imaginary scenarios, some of which may become real. Imagination is involved in every situation of our lives, though to different degrees. Sometimes this process can lead to concrete products (e.g., artistic works) that can be picked up and used by others for the purposes of their imagining. Imagination is not seen here as an isolated cognitive faculty but as the means by which people anticipate and constructively move towards an indeterminate future. It is in this process of living forward with the help of imagination that novelty appears and social change becomes possible. This book offers a conceptual history of imagination, an array of theoretical approaches, imagination's use in psychologist's thinking and a number of new research areas. Its aim is to offer a re-enchantment of the concept of imagination and the discipline of psychology more generally.

Using diaries, in-home interviews and contextual inquiry observations, the company's researchers observed how 33 U.S. tablet users interact with their devices. Contextual Inquiry is a UX Research method that combines observation and interviewing.
First, I will provide an introductory overview of mixed-method research. Research patterns cover beliefs about the means of obtaining knowledge (Lincoln & Guba, 1985). The two main research paradigms adopted in academic research are qualitative and quantitative methods. These two methods are different in terms of philosophical tradition; besides, they differ in the form of reasoning used and the ways of obtaining knowledge (DePoy & Gitlin, 1994). A study on the variations in subjects’ work, lives and their effects on others are used to illustrate how those two methodologies can be combined. Qualitative and quantitative research approaches are affected in fundamental ways by different assumptions. The focus of this research is to explore the possibility of conducting mixed-method research in the academic field and to establish the congruency of mixed methods with current interest within academic professions in contextual practice and contemporary ethics. The central aim of this research will be the contribution that mixed-method research can make to the development of strong theoretical frameworks for professional practice in academic circles. Following is an analysis of the different angles that delve into this research. Based on the article by Klein and Myers (Klein, H.K & Myers, M.D.(1999). A set of principles for conducting and evaluating interpretive field studies in information systems. MIS Quarterly Vol. 23 №1, p.67–94), and another article by Hammersley, Martyn (Hammersley, Martyn. (2008). Troubling criteria: a critical commentary on Furlong and Oancea’s framework for assessing educational research. British Educational Research Journal Vol. 34 Issue 6, p747–762), general evaluative criteria have been developed to enhance the rigor and creditability of mixed-method research in these papers. However, due to the pluralistic nature of research inquiry, researches cannot always be evaluated by the same criteria.
