Our den has definitely made progress, but it is still not a room I LOVE....especially considering we probably spend the most time here (awake time, that is). I can't put my finger on what the issue is -- still too dark? not enough color? Would drapes help? I have been thinking about how much drapes finish a room. AND I keep finding myself drawn to drapes (and pillows) with a ribbon detail like these... I can't remember where I found this image-- I've had it for ages! Sometimes I can't picture as well as I'd like in my head...so I turn to PowerPoint (because I don't have photoshop) for help. Josh was laughing at my skills and asked if I could move O into the other picture... Here she is relaxing in her new room, kind of. Maybe I can make my own drapes and cornices (with the help of my wonderful mom!!!). Then I started thinking about how I keep wanting a small gold and glass coffee table and began doing a little more work in PowerPoint: The third coffee table background was really not cooperating...but I noticed this online at Pier1 a few months ago (now on sale for even better price). It has a lot of potential I think -- and I love the second shelf. Here is what I have in mind for this (or a similar) bargain. Mom-- maybe we should add this to the list of things I'd like to do next weekend while I'm home. XO, Whit

About Beautiful old paint on this window cornice that is perfect as narrow console with a mirror or painting above . Would be charming over a twin bed as well.
Dramatic box pelmets and cornices are having a comeback within interior design and they are now one of the most desired window and door treatments over shades, blinds and shutters. Covering track or curtain poles, box pelmets can be custom-made to fit at the top of your window or door, or they could

Loren Hope jewelry is at the tip top of my all time favorite jewelery designers. Her pieces are gorgeous and every time I wear one of her pieces, it always makes that outfit feel a bit more pulled together. Loren asked Poplin & Queen to be a part of her Fall look book and Shannon and I were over the moon. A little camera shy, especially knowing that we were going to be in the company of fashion bloggers (which Shannon and I are not), we pulled ourselves together as best we could (work projects kept us away from manicures/make-up/blow outs that we were hoping for) and snapped a few photos. I nearly stroked when I saw that Blaire Eadie and I were mere pages away. Out of all of the collections Loren has created, this Fall is my favorite. I love Art Deco jewelry and love that she has taken a classic shape and updated it by adding pops of color in the stones. I love every single piece in this collection, but the Greta Necklace, Clara Earrings, and Ram Door Knocker Bracelet are my favorites. Thanks so much to Loren for including Poplin & Queen in your look book ! It was such an honor! Be sure to give Loren Hope a warm welcome!
Room decorating trends come and go. The space you decorated in the 1990s with pastels and brass is decidedly out of style now. But what do you do? You don't want to pitch your expensive, well-made fu...
