A new style- more steampunk Regency-inspired than hardcore Victorian so more lace and flowers, fewer cogs on this style. It's modular, with a detachable vintage upcycled brooch so you can choose from the plainer or more fancy look. The decorated section is about 12 inches (30cm long) and the overall main ribbon is about 36 inches (90cm) allowing you to tie an adjustable large size lovely bow/knot. This is an ornate painted lace and gold-painted vintage cotton lace ribbon choker adorned with 1 detachable clip/brooch in a Victorian looking bronze/gold metal and pink stone flower design. Please note there are a couple of tiny stones missing, this is normal in salvaged jewellery and does not detract from the overall look. Without the brooch, the choker is embellished with an assortment of satin roses and bows. It's also long enough to pin or tie on as a hatband, or headband/ alice band for all sorts of costumes. Think goth, steampunk, vampire, Victorian, fantasy cosplay, princess, peasant, flower fairy, you name it! The ribbon and lace is soft and flexible, and because it is tied the sizing is pretty adjustable too. The paint on the lace is likely to be acrylic but this is not guaranteed and the back of the painted lace lies against the skin- If you have concerns about allergies please choose a fabric backed necklace instead! Turn heads in this bustier, made of men's neckties laid over a long line boned bra. Each tie, in shades of red and burgundy, was stitched in place, then the seams were covered with narrow velvet ribbon in a rich red. The ties over the cups are hand stitched on. I removed the hooks and eyes in the back and replaced them with black corset lacing. A narrow picot edge black ribbon is included for lacing. There is a jeweled costume brooch in the center, right under the cups. Sized small, 34B. It measures 26" across at the waist when laid flat, but the mannequin it is shown on has a 26" waist and you can see there is a small gap in the back at that measurement. It is 19" tall at the tallest. Dry clean only as most of the ties are silk. Or carefully spot clean. Not a toy and not intended for children under 12.

I've wanted to share images of this corset since I first saw it in storage at the Kent State University Museum. KSUM 1983.1.1500 Three quarter front detail I recently photographed it as part of the preparations for the upcoming Undress exhibit so I have a few nice pictures to post. Yea. The corset was made in Poland in the 1880s from two layers of silk. The exterior is black brocade and the interior is pale blue moire. If you look closely at the picture below you can see black thread is used for the warp and brown thread for the weft resulting in rich background that helps bring the solid black motifs into focus. KSUM 1983.1.1500 Busk detail The M Grochovska engraved on the busk loops is the maker's name, it's also woven on the label inside the corset. There is an image of the label and a bit more information about this corset on the museum's blog. But before you click over there let's take a closer look at the flossing. There are two blue elastic suspenders to support stockings placed at the center front. They were my reference for attaching the garters on the 1911 corset I made.
