Nicola Samorì works in a world of dark Baroque influenced drama. His paintings are gouged, distorted, melted, skinned and destroyed before reaching their final state. This act of destruction is so deliberate and contrasting to the works of painterly skill affected - it can almost be seen as violent.

Hi Everybody! Today I don't have a video because the project is too big to be filmed! My canvas is 20 "x 27"! So I painted with black gesso, and glued my embellishments one by one (a lot of recycling), taking care to tighten them against each other, and to make 3 different places! I then put silver wax on all the reliefs, several times to accentuate the effect! Then I chose embellishments which were going to become rusty and make drips on my canvas, as if time had acted !! It only remained for me to do some spots of white ink here and there! XOXO Nirvana! Mixed Media Place supplies:

Born in Lima, Peru in 1980, Ana Teresa Barboza lives and works in her native city. She studied painting in the Faculty of Art at Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PCUP). Using embroidery, yarn, and wool, she creates landscapes and other imagery that exists in the space between tapestry and sculpture. Emulating the flow of waves or grass, each piece breaks out of its embroidery hoop and tumbles down the wall upon which it is being displayed.
A sense of solitude and the finitude of time pervade the quiet, introspective works by Sung Hwa Kim. Rendering overgrown landscapes shrouded by night, the Korean artist wields the connection between ephemerality and memory, sometimes invoking nostalgia, as well. His acrylic paintings focus on fleeting acts like a glowing lightning bug or butterfly hovering above the grass while utilizing light to “symbolize the spirit of things we once loved, have lost, despair and longing.
