Oh my poor neglected blog, lol - and I'm not going to sit and type a thousand word essay on excuses, no sir'ee, just a heap of family stuff etc etc going on that I ain't gonna bore ya with, so, onto my card. Another gorgeous LOTV stamp, an oldie but a goodie, which I have used on a Platinum Wedding Anniversary card I was asked to do. Apparently it was a struggle to find one in the shops, so I whipped this up in super quick time - well, I say super quick, the image took about 3 and a half hours to colour with my prisma pencils, as I tried the (slightly) no line technique, lol. I haven't got a pale inkpad, so I used black and stamped the ink off onto a scrap piece of paper about 3-4 times, then stamped onto the Neenah card after that. First attempt and I'm quite pleased with the results. What'cha think??? I'm still not great with the photo taking as the colours are much paler in the picture than IRL, but I was pleased with the end result. All the flowers are WOC, the image and anniversary sentiment are LOTV. I've used 2 doilie dies behind the image and flowers and a martha stewart branch punch. The paper is years old but was the perfect platinum colour I was after. The ribbon is from my stash. I hope to have a little bit more time next week once the kids go back to school, so I'll be having a gander at your blogs, which I do visit often, but don't usually have time to comment. I think I'm going to leave a little heart from now on, just so you know I've been - a bit like Santa, but I suppose he always leaves a prezzie, awww well, can't compete with the Big Guy lol. Oh, and I've just realised Crafty Little Fairies are having a "One you Love" challenge, so I'm gonna to enter this card into it lol. Hope you're all well and keeping safe and warm.
If you're looking for the shops, then you have come to the right place!

FIDGET QUILT PATTERNS - My first project was a lap quilt, filled with bits and bobs to keep fidgety hands busy
Wondering what 'crazy yarn' is? Well... I took all my bits and bobs of leftover yarns which have been accumulating. I then cut them into assorted lengths (no greater than six metres) then mixed them all up and knotted them together randomly. No fancy knotting technique, just leaving a tail of about an inch or so. Regardless of fibre type and thickness. There's cottons, acrylics, wools, novelty yarn, and every possible blend in between. All mixed in together. I was astounded when I ended up with 18 balls of 'crazy yarn' What would I make with all this yarn? You don't get any prizes for guessing that I started on an easy peasy crochet bag! Using three strands held together. I ended up working this bag 20 rounds tall. I didn't worry too much about all those knots, just kept them to the inside of the bag as much as possible. Any that 'escaped' were just woven back to the inside before I added the lining. I didn't have a thread colour which was remotely suitable for sewing on the lining. So that left me with a number of choices. Option One - go shopping for the perfect match? NO WAY... that's not what I'm all about! Option Two - Use a completely contrasting colour and make a feature of the stitching? A definite possibility, but then I thought of a third option... Option Three - raid Mr Goldfish's garage, and 'borrow' some fishing line? YES, YES, YES... strong, invisible, perfect! look closely... you can only JUST see a hint of where those stitches are! YAY for fishing line! I'm keeping the reel with my craft supplies now. I craft way more often than Mr Goldfish goes fishing... here's the finished bag... you won't be at all surprised to see that I have embellished with a felted heart...
