The mandala can be made in any yarn and hook and can be transformed into brooches, wall decorations, coasters......anything you like. I would like to use the mandala very important cause to me…….20th of February marked 13 years since my wonderful mum, Lucy, has passed away. I would like to raise money for the amazing special care unit in St.Thomas Hospital in London, the doctors and nurses there took such a good care of my mum in her final hours, I’ll forever be grateful to them. I would like to donate the full amount from every mandala pattern sold to the hospital. Thank you in advance for your support and helping me raise the money. Highlights A collection of 75 exciting modern mosaic designs suitable for both crocheters and knitters. About the Author: Anna Nikipirowicz is a crochet and knit designer, tutor, and author. 176 Pages Crafts + Hobbies, Needlework Description Book Synopsis A collection of 75 exciting modern mosaic designs suitable for both crocheters and knitters. Every pattern includes photographs of both the knitted and crocheted samples, charts, and written instructions. Mosaic crochet and knitting is an easy, versatile colorwork technique allowing the maker to create stunning patterns without having to carry multiple strands of yarn per row. This technique allows you to create striking geometric patterns that can be used on everything from homewares to accessories. Although it looks impressive, mosaic crochet and knitting techniques are easy to learn and fun to do. Mosaic crochet works is done with a combination of chain stitches and varying stitch lengths over a couple of rows, and mosaic knitting is done with a combination of knit and slip stitches. There is a section at the beginning which looks at both mosaic knitting and crochet techniques with step-by-step photography and instructions so you can brush up on your technique. This is followed by the stitch directory which is grouped by theme including: Geometric, Aztec, Nature, Seasonal and General. Every design starts with an introduction followed by a guide on how to mosaic knit and crochet it with colourwork charts and photography showing both knit and crochet samples. Each pattern has an ability grading (in hooks and needles) and they vary in complexity from very simple designs to much more complex chevrons and diamonds. Every mosaic design features a chart, knit and crochet swatch, and written instructions. A section at the back of the book includes a techniques refresher for both knit and crochet beginners so even absolute beginners can make the 75 intricate, sophisticated designs, as the charts and techniques are super simple to follow. About the Author Anna Nikipirowicz is a crochet and knit designer, tutor, and author. Her designs are regularly featured in craft magazines such as Inside Crochet and she is the author of Tunisian Crochet Stitch Dictionary, Crocheted Wreaths for the Home, and more. Nerida is a gorgeous top-down crescent-shaped shawl, named after Nereids, which in Greek mythology were sea nymphs When designing this shawl I wanted to capture the stormy, changing sea. Which I think I managed perfectly with the calmness of plain panels, occasionally interrupted by the busyness of lace and the sharp scallop edging representing the roughness of sea rocks. Materials 5 x Coopknits Sock Yeah by Fyberspates (photographed in Malachite 110) – 212m/231yds per 50g I have used above yarn, but any 4ply/fingering or light 4ply/fingering yarn will be fine to use for this shawl, taking into account that different fibres result in different finished effect. You will need approximately 1.050m (1.1150yds). 5 mm (US 8/H) crochet hook Finished size The completed blocked shawl measures approximately 55 cm (21.6 in) at the widest point, 165 cm (65 in) at the top curve and 337 cm (132.6 in) at the bottom curve.
