Now an important bird observatory, founded in 1934, the Low Light lighthouse was used in conjunction with the main light on the Isle of May from 1844 - 1887.
This is the last square-sided screwpile lighthouse in America. Built in the 1880's it once sat on pilings in Albemarle Sound marking the entrance to the Roanoke river near Plymouth North Carolina. It was rescued from slated demolition and purchased by the Edenton Historic Commission. It will undergo resoration and will be added to the historic waterfront of Edenton, North carolina. The photo above was taken as the lighthouse was being transported to it's new home. Information taken from Lighthouse Digest magazine.

I don't know what it is about lighthouses that I love so much, but my desire to visit them wherever I go has led me to some amazing ones.

Sienna offers clean, minimalist styling in 3 key metallics - Aged Brass, Brushed Nickel and Bronze. Each finish is paired with a colour-matched cord, providing a soft tone-on-tone look that allows the metallic to take centre stage.Featuring interchangeable GX53 globes, the Sienna collection is highly practical and very well suited for use over an island bench.

After the blow two days ago I was going to go back to Pt Betsie to check out the ice formations, but decided to head up to Charlevoix as I hadn't seen the light since it had been repainted to red. the blow mentioned, is here photo date/id: 20091230_9537fb and how it looked in 1997: www.flickr.com/photos/kenscottphotography/8493574882
Lindau could be compared to Venesia. It is a small peninsula town on the Constancia lake in Bavaria. It is attached to the edge just by a bridge. Hostels are much more expensive than in Fussen and it is better to have sharp reservation. 2 days are enought to visit and not to miss the sunset. Very quiet and romantic place, especially the harbor. Winter is still a good period to go, not many tourist, which is essential because the estetic of the place is enforced by the quietness.
