….And now for the second round of "Film-to-Wedding Inspiration" for the day. It comes to us from the film,"500 Days of Summer." If you have not seen this movie…GO.RENT.IT.NOW (Actually, just go buy it. You'll love it, I promise.) Not only is it a great film but it's also a great experimentation in visuals and a mix of film mediums! Some of my favorite things about this film are the whimsical touches of French music, split screens, retro cinema moments, and just a dash of a grand musical scene. When I think of the style, of this film, I begin to picture 1960s mod+modern architecture, and those are some great things to incorporate into a "500 Days of Summer" inspired wedding! A rooftop terrace (Via Society Bride) can be a beautiful setting for any big day! It adds a real, modern-city feel to your wedding and you can get a beautiful sunset/night sky view for free! This beautiful store on Etsy, called Sash Couture, actually makes a "500 Days of Summer"-inspired dress! One of the beautiful things in the movie is the various typography! I love a good font! For "500 Days" inspired features, have some personalized graphic design pieces made to add depth and modernity to your wedding. Commission some pieces like this beautiful photo booth backdrop by Dana Tanamachi or a custom "couple logo" for your reception, like the one above by Matthew Tapia. You can even bring in a cityscape sketch, like in the film, through invitations like these by Cricket Printing. Graphic cakes and modern "Foodie" trucks only further create that instant, vintage feel! Retro pieces like the "Foodie" truck and the bug make for great photography moments. 1. Via Lamb & Blonde 2. Via Ruffled Blog 3. Via Zank You And last, but certainly not least, photography! This is, in my opinion, one of the best parts of a wedding! Think about showing your wedding photographer screenshots of films or music videos you L-O-V-E and ask how they incorporate this styling into your photos! As a photographer, I like to remember to also take individual shots of the bride and groom, it allows for their individuality to shine--reminding them this wonderful day is about two amazing, individuals joining their lives together! (Couple on Bench via Green Wedding Shoes) Anyone have a suggestion for tomorrow's "Film-to-Wedding" inspiration? If so, comment below! XOXOXO Heather
