Hi, Friends, Today I am sharing with you a gift card holder we made at April Play Day: Here is the inside of the gift card holder as we made it at Play Day: The gift card fit in the cutout area left from the Deco Label Framelits die. I wasn't extremely happy with the way the gift card fit in this version, so after Play Day I "played" around with it a bit and came up with this, which I like a lot better: I took a Number 1 Coin Envelope (buy them at office supply store) and cut off the flap and punched part of a 1" circle punch out to make it easier to get the gift card out. Here is a close up of the envelope: Here is my recipe for this project: STAMPS: BYOP, Daydream Medallions, Mother's Love CARDSTOCK: Sahara Sand: 4 x 11-1/2, scored at 2-1/2, 3-1/2, 4-1/2, 8-7/8 Sahara Sand: 4 x 4-7/8, scored at 1/2 Whisper White: 3-3/4 x 4-1/8 Something Borrowed DSP: 3-5/8 x 4 Something Borrowed DSP: 1-1/2 x 3-3/4 (2) Something Borrowed DSP: 2 x 3 SCRAPS: Whisper White, Sahara Sand INK: Sahara Sand, Calypso Coral ACCESSORIES: White 1/4 Cotton Ribbon, Floral Frames Framelits, Bit Shot, Magnetic Platform, Deco Labels Framelits, Dimensionals, Very Vintage Buttons, Silver Bakers Twine, Envelope Punch Board, Sticky Strip, Glue Dots, Pearls, No. 1 Coin Envelopes, 1" Circle Punch, Circle Framelits, 1-3/4" Circle Scallop Punch Thanks for stopping by! Hi there once again! Today I have a card made using this week's sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. It's also for the weekly color challenge at Dynamic Duos, where they are celebrating the one year anniversary of the blog. http://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.com/ http://thedynamicduoschallenge.blogspot.ca/ The Dynamic Duos challenge this week is to use any of the color challenges from the last year. Here's the one I chose: Baja Breeze was my choice to match with Crumb Cake. I've always loved that color combination and fortunately I have some retired Parisian Breeze designer paper I have been hoarding saving with just those colors in it. I stamped the Crumb Cake base with the En Francais background stamp in Versamark, then added the designer paper piece across the top after punching it with the Eyelet Border punch. The Daydream Medallion layers were stamped on Whisper White and then cut out with the matching framelits. Layers of solid card stock were also cut with the framelits and layered underneath, an idea I borrowed from the big Stampin' Up catalogue. The stylus from the Simply Scored board was a handy tool to roll up the edges of the stamped layers. Three little flags cut from Parisian Breeze line up under the flower. The sentiment was punched out with a 1 1/4" circle punch and popped up on dimensionals. Crumb Cake Seam Tape ribbon and a button top off the card. So glad you visited my blog today. Be sure to leave me a comment if you have a moment. Until next time! Hugs, Stef All products from Stampin' Up: Stamps: Daydream Medallion, Elementary Elegance, En Francais Paper: Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Baja Breeze, Parisian Breeze dp Ink: Crumb Cake, Baja Breeze, Versamark Accessories: Daydream Medallion Framelits, 1 1/4" Circle and Eyelet Border punches, Crumb Cake Seam Tape ribbon, Neutrals button, White Baker's Twine.
I made this card using a few items that are on the retirement list. The stamp set called Daydream Medallions is one of those sets that is leaving. This set is one of the most beautiful sets in th…
Today's card is the second in my series of Daydream Medallions and Floral Frames projects. This sunflower came together pretty quickly once I settled on the idea! I used the largest Floral Frames Framelit to cut two flowers from More Mustard cardstock and assembled them as I related in yesterday's post. The next smaller framelit in the set of five cut the flower that had been stamped in More Mustard ink; this was adhered with Dimensionals. The Chocolate Chip flower center was punched with a 2-1/2" Circle Punch then embossed with the Big Shot and the Square Lattice Embossing Folder. I swiped it several times with the Chocolate Chip pad to give it more variation in color and definition to the texture. A Crumb Cake cardstock banner stamped with "Wonderful You" from the Loving Thoughts stamp set is attached under one of the beautiful buttons from the new Designer Brushed Bronze Button pack. A touch of Chocolate Chip Taffeta Ribbon ties off the button. I diecut two Always Artichoke leaves using the Autumn Accents die and attached them to the back of the flower. The view shows some of the dimension of the card. This was such fun to make! Thanks for visiting my blog! Here's wishing you a creative day! Come back for more in this series in the next day or two! Margaret
It's another month for the Tour De Freaks! You should have just arrived from the fabulous Patty Bennett's blog. This month the theme is Simple & Elegant. When I was thinking about what stamp set I could use to showcase an elegant card, I scanned my stamp sets on the shelf and the Daydream Medallions set jumped out at me! I got a little excited about playing with this set since I hadn't used it in a long, long time, so I actually have three cards to share with you today. I hope you will be inspired by what you see...feel free to leave a comment if you have any questions! First up showcases one of my favorite in-colors right now ~ Blackberry Bliss!! I have always thought the deep purple is one of the most elegant colors you could use, so I kept this card monochromatic. This card opens up differently than a normal card. The two flaps fold to the inside of the card. The card base is cut like a normal card (5-1/2 x 4-1/4), but I scored it while laying lengthwise at 2-1/8" on each side. I love how the layered look of the Daydream Medallions and Floral Frames Framelits coordinate and overlap each other in a striking way. I finished off the middle with a 1/2" circle followed by a Rhinestone Accent. When opened, this sentiment is on the bottom of the card. Stamp Sets Daydream Medallions, A Dozen Thoughts (sentiment) Ink Blackberry Bliss Paper Blackberry Bliss, Whisper White, 2014-2016 In-Color Paper Stack (Blackberry Bliss polka dots) Accessories SNAIL Adhesive, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Rhinestones Tools Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine, Floral Frames Framelits, 1/2" Circle Punch My second card also uses a monochromatic theme using Soft Sky & Lost Lagoon. I decided to create this card 4-1/4 x 4-1/4 as the bottom doily fits perfectly on the square card. I then layered it using the coordinating Floral Frame Framelits. Each of the layers is popped up with a Dimensional (wish I would have taken a picture of the side view!!) This thank you card is intended for one of my customers who took advantage of the Big Shot special this month...she purchased the Big Shot and received the Daydreams Medallions stamp set and coordinating Floral Frames Framelits for FREE! This up close view gives you a good look of the white embossing. Stamp Sets Daydream Medallions, Bitty Banners Ink Lost Lagoon, Versamark, White Embossing Powder Paper Lost Lagoon, Soft Sky, Whisper White Accessories SNAIL Adhesive, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Glue Dots, Subtles Buttons, Tea Lace Paper Doilies Tools Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine, Floral Frames Framelits, Heat Tool (for embossing) This last card is my favorite of the three! It's hard to see in the picture, but I actually embossed the black decorative ring. I then used the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to perfectly place the Crisp Cantaloupe image inside. I think this makes a beautifully elegant wedding card! You can see I added Pearl Accents around the framed image and used Calypso Coral Blendabilities to color in the trio of pearls on the butterfly then popped up the butterfly with a Dimensional. This is the stationery holder that my hostesses made at Hostess Appreciation Day. (They loved it!) And, it's also what I gave to my roommates and downline attending Convention this year. (They loved it, too!) This elegant folder is designed to fit a half pack of the English Ivy Simple Sentiments. I was inspired by the picture on page 147 of the 2012-13 Stampin' Up! Catalog. The front of the folder features the Daydream Medallions set. I had a personalized monogram stamp created for myself (also on page 147), but my customers used the Broadsheet Alphabet stamp to personalize their

Hiya friends! It's another Paper Players Sunday and that means it's been a week since I last posted...yikes! Hopefully, this week I'll be a little more active in my stamp room. Nothing like a big box of new toys for some motivation! We've also had a new addition to the family that's kept me busier than usual but more on that later... Today, the lovely Lesley has a Tic-Tac-Toe challenge for us. Choose any 3 elements from the board: vertical, horizontal or diagonal: I couldn't wait to use my Floral Frames Framelits and matching Daydream Medallions stamp set. I found this great sketch over at Create with Connie & Mary and am delighted to play along with my friends over there--Hi gals! I combined the sketch with the center column of the Tic-Tac-Toe board: Birthday, Dry Embossing & Ribbon to create this: The color combination is directly from the Color Coach and I love it: Basic Gray, Primrose Petals and Summer Starfruit! The background paper is actually new Halloween paper called Howlstooth & Scaringbone from the upcoming Holiday mini. Love those gray polka dots! The center panel is 2 3/4" wide and stamped with the largest image from Daydream Medallions in Summer Starfruit. I trimmed it with more Summer Starfruit cut with the Adorning Accents edgelit and matching embossing folder. Here's a close-up of the flower--don't you just love a coordinating stamp set and Framelit? I used 3 different ribbons: Chantilly crochet trim (ret.), Summer Starfruit stitched satin and some new Basic Gray striped satin ribbon. All the ribbons are held together with our cool new Ribbon Slides (Holiday mini). I knew right away that they would be perfect for pulling together a riot of ribbons and I was right! (love it when that happens, lol!) It's a great way to make a big impact with a small amount of ribbon. Of course, you know I had to finish the inside! More stamping of the medallions in the background as well as the center panel and the perfect sentiment from Bring on the Cake. The Paper Players Design Team Jen Arkfeld Lesley Croghan Dawn Easton Helen Heil Jaydee Nance Leedy Anne Marie Hile LeAnne Pugliese Ann Schach Amy White Please be sure to visit the rest of the design team for some amazing inspiration! I'm so happy that almost all of the senior design team is back in action this week. Between vacations and SU convention, we've all been scattered! Now we just need our fearless leader! I hope you'll play along with Lesley's Tic-Tac-Toe challenge...you have until Friday, August 3rd at noon (PST) so go get your craft on! Now, if you would like to stay tuned for some personal stuff....first a couple pix of a different kind of craft: These gorgeous platters are handmade by a group of women living near Royal Natal National Park. Each coil is made from reeds, wound together with thread and coiled into a platter. The colors are added with different colored threads and string--often recycled from purchased products. Their smiles are genuine and the creativity astounding. We actually saw them harvesting the reeds by the side of the road. Our daughter couldn't wait to have her picture taken with them! OK, lastly...if you're still with me...we took the plunge this week and added a new member to our family. Our last kitty passed on a few months ago and the house had been too quiet ever since. So, we visited the rescue center run by our vet and well....let's just say there's no such thing as "let's go have a look", ha! May I present....Miss Sadie Leedy: She is a 3 year old mix of Jack Russell terrier / Italian Greyhound and all kinds of uber-cuteness! We are all in LOVE...and I think she is too. :-) She's become quite attached to me in a short period of time--follows me everywhere, even to the bathroom, ha! Nothing like a dog for dedication! If you've made it this far, thanks for indulging my need to share and thanks for stopping by. Have a great week! Good Morning, Stampers! The NEW Annual Catalog brought so many new stamp sets that I had a hard time deciding what to focus this week's class on! So, I thought, why not just introduce 4 new stamp sets - an all-occasion/hodgepodge of cards! Here are the cards they will be making: (Inspired from Mary Brown) There are lots of fun new products that I just can't wait for you to get your hands on them! This class is at capacity, however, if you would like to be added to the waitlist, please contact me! Happy Stampin'! ~Melissa
This card was inspired by a card done by Kay Kalthoff that was posted on her Stamping to Share blog We received both of the sets (Daydream Medallions and You're Amazing) used on this card as part of our Convention package. Once again, the Daydream Medallions images are perfectly coordinated to be used with the Floral Frames Framelits dies for the Big Shot! The background piece was embossed with the Argyle folder, one of the latest additions to our Big Shot product line. The center of the flower is embellished with an antique brad, and the card is finished off with some Rich Razzleberry stitched grosgrain ribbon. The inside sentiment is from the You're Amazing set.
Welcome to the Stamp Review Crew's Daydream Medallions Edition!! YAY!!! This set has been LONG neglected in my stamp cupboard ... THRILLED to be able to bring it out and play with it!! Why-oh-WHY haven't I pulled this set out more often??? It is MUI-MUI fun to use!!! I was trying to keep this creation a bit on the "simple" side ... I didn't even do 27 layers!! How 'bout that??? Stamps: Daydream Medallinos, A Dozen Thoughts Paper: Whisper White, Lost Lagoon Ink: Lost Lagoon, Blackberry Bliss Accessories: Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Corner Rounder Punch, Pansy Punch, Petite Petals Punch, Ticket Builder Punch, Linen Thread, Pearl Basics All the images in the set look like this ... now YOU want one, right??? Welcome to another round of Fab Friday!!! I had SO much fun making this card for today's challenge and I couldn't wait to share it with you!!! Is it bad that I can say that I LOVE this card??? (I don't often "love" what I create ... but once in a while something comes out of my brain and through my fingertips and turns out better than I was picturing it to be! I think I'm just ready for spring!) Stamps: Daydream Medallions, Hello Life Paper: Whisper White, 2013-2015 In Color Designer Series Paper Stack (Baked Brown Sugar), Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack (Blushing Bride) Ink: Blushing Bride, Baked Brown Sugar Accessories: Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Pansy Punch, Petite Petals Punch, 1 3/8" Square Punch, Project Life Corner Rounder Punch, Floral Frames Framelits, Artisan Embellishment Kit (Blushing Bride Rose Trim), Burlap Ribbon, Mini Stapler, Pearl Basics Fun sketch! I mentioned that my stepdaughter graduated. Well, that means a lot of gifts and many thank you cards in return. I made a small stack of these cards for her to send to her well-wishers. Just so happens they are the colors for the Dynamic Duos color challenge! Wonder how that happened... Anyway I wanted to use my new toys and this design helped me achieve a few different goals this week! I took another photo but the light is hideous and the angle was wrong and it was just an unfixable disaster AND I was out of daylight, so I will post this card again with some other color combinations and letters I played with today. I managed to smash in 4 new items from the 2012-13 Stampin' Up annual catalog - the Floral Framelits, Adorning Accents Edgelits and matching embossing folder, and the new Daydream Medallions stamp set, along with my trusty Broadsheet Alphabet. Love this design. I thought it might work for the Stamp A Stack we have planned but if we have 20 people trying to make 4 of the same design at the same time, even using 2 Big Shots, it will just turn into Armageddon and we don't need that. :) So I used the medallions and framelits again and came up with a more multi-user friendly design. Now I can't wait for the big event! I've been aware of Dynamic Duos and this is just their 8th challenge, and it is a great one. I'll be playing again! I keep trying to do more complicated things and the simplicity suits me well. Thanks for stopping by. Hi everyone and happy Sunday to you! This week at The Paper Players the amazing Anne-Marie is giving us one more chance to get all our cards made for Mother's Day! One of the benefits of being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator is an advance look at the new catalog and the chance to pre-order some of the goodies including the new In Colors that I've used today. One of the cards in the new catalog inspired me to dust off the Daydream Medallions stamp set and combine it with some of the gorgeous new In Colors. I'm afraid the dark and dreary day we had today didn't do much to show how pretty these colors are. I'll try for a better pic if the sun ever comes out again! I stamped the layered medallions in Crisp Cataloupe, Baked Brown Sugar and Pistachio Pudding on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. I used the Floral Frames framelits to cut a window from the Pistachio Pudding cardstock to frame the focal element. At 4.34" x 6.5", this card is larger than standard A2 size but I wanted to show off the full size of the beautiful framelit and it will still fit in a larger (non-SU) envelope. Because you can never shower Mom with enough pearls, I've scattered them all around the inside and outside of the medallions. Since this card is destined for my wonderful Mother, I had to use one of these new Very Vintage Buttons that I just know she will love. Isn't it pretty? The carved detail is gorgeous and they look like a vintage ivory treasure from a well-traveled button box. The sentiment stamped in the middle of the medallions on the inside is actually two separate sentiments from the Petite Pairs set. They're perfect on their own but paired together they send a heartfelt message. Of course, I couldn't have layered the medallions and the sentiments so well without the aid of my handy Stamp-a-ma-jig! I hope you like my card today. I would love to hear your thoughts on the three new In Colors I've shown you. Make sure to check out the rest of The Paper Players Design Team with their wonderful projects and probably a few more sneak peeks: The Paper Players Design Team Ann Schach Anne Marie Hile Jaydee LeAnne Pugliese Nance Leedy Amy O'Neill Brian King Jen Nelson Justin Krieger Sandy Mathis If you've still got one or two Mother's Day cards to make, why not join in the fun with our challenge? I had lots of fun creating some samples this past week for a presentation I gave to our Stampin' Up! demonstrators group on Saturday using the Floral Frames Framelits and the Daydream Medallions duo. This is the first of several samples I made that I'll be posting here in the coming days. I thought the Stampin' Royalty Color Challenge this week of Tangerine Tango, Rose Red and Whisper White was just perfect for this flower-shaped card and I'm really happy with the way it turned out. I love how these colors play off each other. I cut two Tangerine Tango flowers with the largest Framelit, scored one at the base of the top two petals and then adhered that portion to the second Tangerine flower, which had been run through the Big Shot with the new Lace Brocade Embossing Folder. This forms the front and back of the card and enables it to stand. The next flower, Rose Red cardstock stamped in the same color with the Medallion stamp, was added to the Tangerine with Dimensionals. The next two flowers were stamped on Whisper White cardstock and layered, then topped with a Rose Red flower cut with the Floral Fusion Sizzlit (#115969), a clear Designer Vintage Faceted Button (#127555) then centered with a Rhinestone jewel (#119246). All these layers add up to great dimension on this card! The final touch was a greeting banner stamped with Happy Birthday from one of my faves, the Curly Cute set (#120510). I'll be posting more of my samples in the next days so I hope you'll visit again soon! You may purchase these and any other Stampin' Up! products from my secure Stampin' Up! website HERE. Well it has been a few weeks since I posted as have been on some adventures to Scotland, have a beautiful new dog who is just 9 months old, and the weather has been glorious so lots of gardening and outdoor pursuits. So excuses out of the way, and today I post. The Stampin up catalogue 2016/17 launched on the 1st June and is filled with lots of new exciting goodies. I have a long wish list and will be ordering later on today. So have a look by following the link above and if you do order please use me Jane Allmark as your demonstrator of choice. The card I've chosen to showcase was inspired by the beautiful double poppies that are just blooming in my garden The new flirty flamingo in colour cardstock has this vibrancy so I chose that colour and the dapper denim as I love pink and blue together. The hearts border punch is a firm favourite too as it adds some added interest to a card and what better sentiment to add than hugs and kisses. Have a lovely sunny fay
