The Girl in Seat 2a Funny how one lie can spiral… One thing about me: I HATE flying. It’s my worst nightmare. That’s why I book seat 2A every time I fly. Since my big win, I've been booking seats 2B and 2C as well. They’re my comfort seats, they cushion the claustrophobia, and at last I can afford them. I am now determined to live the life of luxury. I deserve it, after all. How to Live Like a Millionaire is the book I’m reading on this flight. When it lands on the floor, a handsome guy hands it back to me. I know he clocks the title, because he’s totally charming and talks to me as if I’m one of the Marbella Millionaire set. When I land in sunny Spain, I’ll be acting like a millionairess, that’s for sure – even if it’s stretching the truth, just a bit. We all know that money talks, and I intend to talk my way into a better life. Who knows… maybe this guy, the one who had the cheek to sit down in seat 2C, might be someone special. He has an air of danger, but who cares? Nowadays, it is fundamental to know how to create opportunities in life, regardless of whether you are a student, employee, or entrepreneur. It is essential to analyze our skills, personal presentation, and areas for improvement to achieve this. Nyrka Riskin explains everything there is to know about this in Unstoppable: How to Spice up Your Brand, Create Opportunities, and Reach Your Goals. She emphasizes the importance of developing a personal brand and offers strategies for its creation. She motivates us to innovate and reinvent ourselves to gain confidence. She also guides us through a series of steps to set goals by category and instructs us on how to maintain good organization. However, Nyrka doesn't limit herself to the external; she also highlights the importance of self-care and healthy living. Once the groundwork is laid, she encourages us to move forward to enjoy the process of change, to take risks, and to be authentic. Unstoppable inspires us to work on the crucial areas of our lives. I loved Nyrka Riskin's explanations. Her ability to share anecdotes and inspiring stories of people she has worked with keeps the reading interesting throughout. She explains clearly how to use creativity to overcome a lack of resources. Her examples are real, and at the end of each chapter, she includes action tips, which are practical exercises so we can apply what we learn to our situations. The information is well documented and structured to maintain a balance between work and life. In addition, it constantly highlights the usefulness of focusing on goals and being assertive and proactive. I particularly liked the strategies for staying motivated and for pursuing activities that we are passionate about. Unstoppable: How to Spice up Your Brand, Create Opportunities, and Reach Your Goals teaches us that happiness and well-being are the keys to success.

Dare To Love Again Dare To Love Again by Julie Lessman Revell Publishing, 2014 Reviewed by Diana Flowers 5 stars***** Another Jewel By Julie! In Dare to Love Again, author Julie Lessman writes an impassioned, powerful story of two very diverse worlds—from the lap of luxury of the very elite on Nob Hill to the poverty-stricken, brothel laden streets of the Barbary Coast…and of the wealthy, young woman who attempts to cross the dangerous bridge to both. Allison McClare and her mother, Caitlyn, have just opened their new school for the less fortunate, the Hand of Hope School for girls, right in the middle of the Barbary Coast, where a decent lady dare not venture out alone after dark. Allie's independent streak lands her in immediate danger, forcing her Uncle Logan to hire Detective Nick Barone (pronounced long "e") to teach her self-defense and escort her to and from work everyday. Allie's heart was shattered into pieces when she was betrayed by her ex-boyfriend, and Nick refuses to ever trust a wealthy snob of a woman again, and the sparks begin to fly between the two in short order! However, Allie soon sees beyond Nick's insults and gruff exterior, and as strong feelings begin to develop will she dare to fall in love again?…especially with a man who carries dark secrets and may not be who he says he is? I always knew Julie Lessman was a wonderful romance writer, but now I place her in the category of a brilliant and masterful storyteller as well. Although this novel made me laugh out loud more than once and was alot of fun, there was also a serious, heartbreaking side to it as well. For Ms. Lessman courageously and compassionately delves into the seedier side of life; of murder and corruption, young girls being forced into prostitution, and disease caused by poverty. I must say, the romantic tension in this one caused my heart to race erratically, and a plot twist in the romance between the heroine's mother, Caitlyn, and her Uncle Logan left me reaching for the tissues. One powerfully written novel of healing, forgiveness, and learning to trust again! Be sure to put this one at the top of your TBR list! <><><><><><><><><><><><><> This book may be purchased through CBD, Amazon, BAM, and your local bookstore. GIVEAWAY: We have a new paperback of Dare to Love Again, a gently used paperback, and an ebook copy to give away this week! Please include email address for contact purposes.

Self-confidence prepares children to face life's challenges. When they feel confident they can make new friends and tackle new opportunities. Part of the process is to learn how to show acceptance and appreciation for others despite their differences. Christine J. Logan promotes these ideas in Because You Care for Beany Bear. Beany is a kind and friendly little black bear. He gradually makes friends with different animals with whom he can coexist and play happily. As he grows up, he finds a partner and demonstrates that there is still enough affection for everyone. The author shares a dynamic story that includes activities such as finding objects in images and this makes for entertaining reading. I liked Because You Care for Beany Bear. It encourages young readers to develop their creativity. In addition to reading, children have to help Beany Bear find solutions and solve puzzles. This is a highly recommended read because it supports the development of concepts such as social integration and an interest in helping others. All the characters are friendly, sociable, and collaborative, providing a great example to follow. The sentences are short and rhythmic, so little ones can practice reading while they play and learn more about Beany Bear. The illustrations are charming and feature natural landscapes, insects, and animals. Values such as empathy, companionship, and respect are prominent. Christine J. Logan motivates children to interact with others and express their emotions positively.

Being a leader is not only about giving instructions but also about understanding the needs of all team members and always keeping the goals clear. Therefore, it is essential to use effective communication methods and ask the right questions. In this way, we can foster collaboration in a healthy environment and achieve better results. This book, 8 Essential Steps to Inspire Others & Build a Thriving Workforce, covers a variety of subjects, from knowing yourself to building strong and productive working relationships. Tenia Davis, Ph.D., speaks from experience and offers practical tools for establishing the right work culture. She demonstrates that real work is both individual and collective. She highlights the importance of finding balance in our personal life and in our environment to implement effective strategies. Tenia Davis speaks about the need to express herself clearly and sets an example with her easy-to-understand explanations. Her genuine interest in motivating collaboration is reflected throughout. However, one of my favorite parts is when she talks about feedback. There, she explains the importance of transparency and courtesy when giving feedback, always considering the impact on peers. The way she approaches the topic reflects her integrity and authenticity. In addition, she offers a variety of tips that motivate you to explore new strategies. I also liked that a month-long journal is included at the end of the book so that, day by day, the ideas can be put into practice. Tenia's 8 Essential Steps to Inspire Others & Build a Thriving Workforce is the ideal guide for leaders ready to empower their teams.

My opinions are my own and are not influenced in any way. This is the first book I’ve read by Diana Munoz Stewart. Her writing is quick and sharp, making this an action-packed reading experience. There are quite a few secondary characters, which had me shaking my head in confusion a few times. The plot is fast paced and the writing flows nicely. Honor Silva’s character is full of energy and determination. She runs a cocoa farm she inherited when her mother died. She cares about her employees, and at times, it blinds her to issues within her business. She is fiercely loyal and can’t understand who could want her to fail. Tony Parish, aka Laz, is an exciting hero. He’s bigger than life and is able to do a multitude of things at the same time. He carries a great deal of guilt regarding a failed project with his sister, which caused him to fake his own death. This part was a bit fuzzy for me, and I believe it would have been helpful if I had read the prior two books in this series. The romance between Honor and Tony/Laz is fast and furious. This is a perfect story for readers who like plenty of sexual action because there’s lot in this romantic tale. The emotions run high at times, but not quite as deep as I enjoy. I missed the sexual tension in a story where something is keeping them from each other. Nothing interferes with this couple’s time between the sheets! If you enjoy a fast-paced romance with an intriguing hero and a heroine with a huge heart, then you will enjoy The Cost of Honor. While this wasn’t a top pick for me, I did enjoy the suspenseful scenes. It certainly kept me engaged. Happy reading! Author Bio: #1 Amazon bestselling author. Adolescence is a complicated phase with many changes for young people to deal with. It is a stage where you have to focus on your studies, decide what you will do for a living, and start planning for the future. Kitsu's Diary: The Things I Wish I Knew When I Was Fifteen tells the story of Kitsu, a young woman who goes through many hardships because her love for Trevor clouds her judgment and she loses her sense of priorities. Despite her good intentions, she had to learn how to identify true love the hard way. Kitsu learns to know herself, accepts God despite all her difficulties, and finds the courage to rebuild her path. Desiri Okobia shows us that with true faith we can find meaning in our lives. I appreciated the way Desiri Okobia conveyed her message. Sections in the book that look like diary notes make the story more vivid and personal so we can understand Kitsu's feelings. The story teaches many useful life lessons. It is easy to empathize with Kitsu because her mistakes could apply to anyone as she describes the turmoil encountered during her adolescence. Love is a very strong emotion at this stage of life and can lead to poor choices while, at the same time, teenagers want to have more freedom to grow as people. Not all the decisions made may be the right ones. The story in Kitsu's Diary might help many young adults find their way and will provide hope even in times of hardship.
