One of my absolute favorite ways to change out my home decor for the seasons is to switch out the artwork in my antique frames. I have done this for years. So many of you probably remember my cow pictures I used to have hanging at the old house. I switched them out to other […]
New for 2015, "Over the Edge", the new fun size version! "Over the Edge" was one of the first workshops I ever offered. I unfortunately had to stop offering it due to problems getting the binders I needed for the workshop. However ... I have now come up with a smaller version with all the bells and whistles of the original! All the sewn, beaded and buttoned edges with even more fun page shapes. Watch for it in upcoming announcements for events in 2015 ... but beware of imitations, I am sad to say they are out there.
Hoping your day is happy! I tried to stay away from the Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper and focus on another project… I couldn’t! That background embossing die was right in front of me. I thought I should showcase all the watercolor washed patterned paper… I didn’t! The background die had to be in […]
Yes, I am still totally obsessed with making these File Folder Journals. This is the newest one I have started, "Bohemian Rhapsody". It'll have 2 signatures packed full of Bohemian style patterned backgrounds in luscious jewel tone colors. These are some of the lamp work beads I plan to dangle from the spine of this journal once I get a bit further with the construction. More photos to follow as this journal develops, but I wanted to share a few for now.
Yesterday I made a couple more Post It pads this time using the new Stitched Stockings stamp set. These little stockings are so cute and come in several styles to choose from. On the left the two stockings are nudged up on top of the ribbon and mounted with dimensionals to give them the look of hanging from the ribbon. On the right, the stocking is on a dimensional on top of the ovals and then the oval is also on dimensionals. The dimensionals give just a little bit of added depth that gives that extra punch to the design. I also added rhinestones which are REALLY hard to photograph but I hope that you can see slightly glimmering in the pics :-) I didn't want to use the cherry seam binding again and I was having trouble finding ribbon to match the stocking on the right but I found some Baroque Burgundy which I think is a close enough match to the DSP. Also I have to confess that I keep cheap, white non-SU cardstock that I use for layering etc but I must have grabbed it accidentally (sometimes the scrap piles get mixed up) and stamped the stockings. They are not as crisp as the the reindeer in my previous post. It really does make a difference what cardstock you use! Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting! Edited 9/18/2020 I just got a request for the dimensions of these little post it pads. I have always loved these cuties! They are quick, easy to make and are great for tuck in gifts! So here are the dimensions: • The base layer is 6-11/16" x 3-1/8" • Score at 3-1/8" from each short end and fold on score lines • Adhere a 3" x 3" post pad inside Decorate the outside as you like. For these, here is what I did: • White Layer: 2-7/8 x 2-7/8” • DSP layer: 2-3/4 x 2-3/4” I have made a lot of these and will try to post more pictures today. Thanks for taking a look at one of my past projects! Stamps: Stitched Stockings Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White, Frostwood Lodge DSP Ink: Cherry Cobbler (pad & marker), Garden Green Accessories: Stitched Stockings punch, circle and scalloped circle punches, cherry cobbler seam binding, baroque burgundy 5/8" grosgrain ribbon (ret), square lattice EF, dimensionals, sticky tape, rhinestones, glue stick

Hello, dear friends, and welcome to day 1 of full reveals for the fabulous new Recollective Holiday Collection from The Greetery! I have been busy as a little bee creating all kinds of fun things to share with you over the next three days! You'll want to head to The Greetery Blog for the official "Meet and Greet" for each of the featured products today, but make sure to leave a comment here, and on each designers' blog, for a chance to win one of two $50 gift certificates to the shop! My first card for today uses the cute and clever new Wrapped in Love stamp/die set! I just love how unique this set is and I'm OBSESSED with the sentiments! I found a super cute Hallmark collection of wrapping paper that was the inspiration for today's card; sage green, white, red.....just fabulous! I absolutely love how Betsy gave us a stamp for the inside of the wrap with the signature "hallmark" grid lines! The Wrapped in Love die collection comes with all the little bits and bobs that you will need to bring a "wrapping scene" to life! The scissors are the cutest, and the TAPE....so cute! It's all so well thought out, don't you think? I mentioned the sentiments earlier; I opted for one that focuses on the true meaning of Christmas, but there are SO MANY to choose from! This card also features the fabulous new BotaniCuts Juniper dies! I made a pair of tags that feature the Wrapped In Love Additions Sentiment stamp set; these are the perfect choice for tags and wraps!!! These tags also feature the new Juniper as well! The Wrapped in Love sentiment dies allow you to die cut the word "wrapped" and there is also one for the word "wrapping", but I didn't end up using that one for today! The Wrapped in Love stamp set comes with quite a few different patterns for your wrapping paper rolls; I'm particularly smitten with the plaid! And can we talk about the little die cut gifts? The cutest!!! This next pair of cards features another unique and well thought out stamp set called Comfort and Joy. Both cards also feature the new Winterland stamp/die set. The Comfort and Joy stamp set is a collection of sentiments that are tailored to those celebrating without a loved one during the Christmas season, BUT, there are a few that work well for regular Christmas cards as well. I love the different sprigs and branches included in the Winterland stamp set! I heat embossed the sentiment in white and then die cut it using the Winterland dies. I love it when sentiments have coordinating dies! I had a few sprigs and branches left over from my first card, so I decided to showcase a regular Christmas card that isn't necessarily "sympathy". I do want to note that I used a fine point brown marker to add the details to the berries. I added glitter and paint splatter for a snowy, holiday look! I heat embossed the "sending wishes for" and "at Christmas time" sentiments directly onto the Pinefeather panel and then arranged the foliage under the "comfort and Joy sentiment. I love how the white paint splatter almost gives the illusion of pioneer enamel wear! My final project for today uses the AMAZING new Big Beautiful Bow die set....I'm absolutely smitten! I can't believe I didn't find more projects to stick a bow on! ha ha! But just wait, I can see a whole collection of Christmas cards using the new Wrapped in Love stamp set and this bow! I opted for something a little more winter-y and something suitable to use as a thank you card for after Christmas or for an accompaniment to a hostess gift! I was tempted to use pattern paper for the base to mimic the look of actual wrapping paper, but feared it might look too busy, so instead, I chose to use the beautiful Pine and Berry Background Stamp that was released last year! I added the die cut bow (very easy to assemble) using liquid glue and foam squares. and then stamped the sentiment in white ink. I also added the die cut "wrapped" sentiment for some dimension. I tucked in a few sprigs from the Winterland stamp set and a few Juniper branches! I absolutely adore this new collection and I hope you've enjoyed today's featured products! Join me again tomorrow for day 2 of full reveals! Don't forget to head to the other designers' blogs and leave comments there for a chance to be eligible to win one of two gift certificates! Thanks for fluttering by! Angelica Dana Dawn Kelly (you are here) Laurie Melissa Wanda

Emma Bridgewater celebrates the season at home in Oxfordshire with family customs that inspire her festive designs
I haven't had much time for journaling lately, but today I squeezed in a little journaling time. I really enjoyed the time I spent on this today. In fact I enjoyed it so much that I made a very similar spread in an old journal that still has a few blank pages left in it. The spread below is done in my JournalFest 2011 Journal that now has just one page left and it will be completely full. I love completely full journals. I have a flip through video in the right hand side bar of this blog if you are interested in seeing more of it.

Gray Granite with Joy of NOEL & Framing Foliage Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the Art with Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop. We are working though the Stampin' Up! colours in alphabetical order, focussing on one colour each week. This week’s Blog Hop is focussing on a mid warm grey called Gray Granite. Gray Granite is one of the Neutrals Colour Family and is a grey with a touch of brown. This colour is lovely neutral that coordinates with so many colours. I do love pink and grey - as you can see in both of my cards for this blog hop. Gray Granite is produced in Stampin' Up!'s card-stock, both A4 & 12"x12"; Classic Stampin' inks (ink pads & re-inkers); Stampin' Write Marker; Stampin’ Blends Combo; Neutrals Designer Series Paper as well as Earthen Elegance DSP, Colourful Kaleidoscope kit and Sentimental Rose All-inclusive Kit & Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack. Gray Granite card-stock, ink and Baker’s Twine Essentials pack have been used in the creation of these projects plus a range of non-Gray Granite bits and pieces. My first card features Gray Granite with a little Petal Pink and touches of Soft Sea Foam. The card base and background use Gray Granite card-stock. The background was stamped with the larger Christmas arrangement from the Joy of Noel set with Versamark Ink and White Emboss Powder and a Heat Gun. A little White Watercolour Pencil lightly coloured the image. The background panel was cut down using the largest Deckled Rectangle die. A little White Craft ink was blended over the edges. This panel was directly mounted onto a slightly larger piece of Basic White card-stock. Using the Joy of Noel stamps, the NOEL was stamped in Petal Pink Classic Stampin’ ink and “Joyous” in Gray Granite ink. The curved Christmas arrangement was stamped in 2nd generation Gray Granite ink and then coloured with Gray Granite, Petal Pink, Calypso Coral and Soft Sea Foam Stampin’ Blends Combos. The NOEL was backed with Foam Adhesive sheet and cut out with a coordinating die from the Joy of Noel dies. The other part of the sentiment and the coloured arrangement were both fussy cut - the latter only because I was sitting with a dog on my lap so couldn’t get up to die cut with the coordinating die. A thin strip of Petal Pink Glimmer paper from the Three Colour Glimmer Speciality Paper (a new online exclusive) was flagged at each end and laid across the card. A Basic White label, cut using the largest Stylish Shapes circle die was embossed with the Snowflake Sky 3D Embossing Folder and adhered with Dimensionals. Some Wink of Stella was splattered over the card front. The remaining pieces were arranged and a double Linen Thread bow adhered in place with a Mini Glue Dot. The final touch of glimmer was the addition of Adhesive-backed Glitter Sequins. The Basic White card inner was simply stamped in Gray Granite ink with the curved arrangement. A Basic White C6 envelope was similarly stamped with the same stamp in Gray Granite ink. CARD 2 The second card has a similar colour scheme, although a couple of different colours were used when colouring the main image. I hadn’t inked the Framing Foliage stamp set so white heat embossed the Christmas frame onto a Basic White piece of card-stock. This panel was diagonally blended half with Gray Granite and Petal Pink inks, making it a little darker around the embossed image. The image was “bleached” with water and left to dry - that is, a wet fine tipped Water Brush was used to lift the ink within the image. Once dry Stampin’ Blends Combos, ie Gray Granite, Petal Pink, Old Olive, Calypso Coral, Pecan Pie and the Colour Lifter were used to colour the image. A White Watercolor Pencil was used to add highlights. The letters from the Alphabet A La Mode dies that spell “Happy” cut Basic White card-stock backed with Foam Adhesive Sheet. “Christmas” from the More Wishes stamp set was stamped on Basic White card-stock and fussy cut. The “Happy” letters were arranged in a higgledy piggledy fashion. (I liked the way the letters were originally arranged but they didn’t end up the same way when adhered. A little bit different makes a difference!) The card was finished with a double bow of Gray Granite Bakers Twine from the Essentials Pack, some gorgeous Adhesive-backed Speckled Dots and a splattering of Wink of Stella. The card inner was simply stamped in Gray Granite ink on Basic White card-stock using the edge of the Christmas foliage frame stamp. A Basic White C6 envelope was similarly stamped with the same stamp edge, but on both shorter edges of the envelope. Thank you so much for dropping by on you way around the Colour Creations Blog Hop. I know we are a smaller group this week but I am sure there will still be so much Gray Granite inspiration shared.
