This week's theme at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog is "inspired by music." My parents raised me to have an appreciation of musicals and one of my favorites has always been Les Miserables. I made a journal page with the song lyrics "On My Own" as a tribute. There are no process shots this time because this went through a dizzying amount of revisions that I would not recommend to anyone in their right mind! The whole page was dripping wet with an ink spray/water disaster at one point, so we'll take it as a win that this page is dry and still has some recognizable elements! To make the leaves stand out, I traced around a branch stencil (from Dina Wakley) and fussy-cut the leaves from all sorts of different patterned paper scraps, then glued them onto the page. There is some polka-dot stenciling in the background and some stamped elements on top. I also used some Prima Water Soluble Oil Pastels to add some color here and there. Dyan Reaveley was in full force with her Dylusions line at Winter CHA 2013. This lady is a hoot, she has a great personality and she is SO FUNNY :) Dyan's art work is amazing! She had so many wonderful samples in her booth! I love her couture line. I love how she doodles the patterns right into the fabrics. Dyan with Jim Hankins, The Gentleman Crafter. The last four project are Dina Wakley's. Dina & Jim are both on Dyan's design team. (Dina Wakley) I love the birds!!!
