Are you like me and not a big fan of the builder punches? It is just so hard to get these punches to line up. Even though the stamp set is photopolymer, the pieces are so small it nearly impossible....
I keep my dies on magnetic sheets in A4 sized plastic boxes and group them in themes. This little lot came from the Hearts/Stars/Baby box! I looked through all the star dies and came up with this. I have several sets of nesting star dies and this pendant was made with a mixture of them. The border on the first one I tried was too skinny, so I chose a smaller heart for the centre cut. I added the eyelet with my Crop-a-dile and embossed the whole star at the back with a Swiss Dots embossing folder. The sentiment was computer generated. I think the star circle dies are by Alexandra Renke, although I can't find the packaging, which I store separately. CAS on Friday

Here is a white on white, or should I say ivory on ivory card with just a little stamping. The house border die was a freebie from a mag and the background behind the circle was embossed with a Sheena Douglass EF. The latter is sadly no longer available, but I feel sure that should they bring it back it would sell extremely well, if the number of enquiries I have had about it is anything to go by. I fancied having the aperture cut with no impression of the die around it. My regular circle dies leave an embossed impression around the cut...even my Sizzix Framelits do this, although the circle itself is cut without an embossed border, the aperture part is left with the flattened edge. To get around this I used a circle aperture die which had some foliage in the centre, so I just cut it from both sides, turning the die through 180 degrees before the second pass. The sentiment is from Memory Box, stamped and embossed in silver EP. Hello crafty friends! It’s Jean here sharing three cards created with the Be Bold Collection at Spellbinders. This distinctive collection of and floral and foliage dies, lower- and uppercase alphabet sets, punctuation dies, embossing folders, and casual script sentiments lends itself to endless creative possibilities. I took an organic approach to designing my creations like assembling a floral bouquet. Let’s take a look as I share the cards from start to finish. To begin, I selected three dark cardstock backgrounds. I started die-cutting the letters, sentiments, florals, and foliage from a variety of cardstock colors. Usually, I decide my colors ahead of time, rather than take this more playful approach. After placing the die-cut pieces on the dark-colored backgrounds, I eliminated colors that did not work. I die cut the Lemon Zest and Be Bold Blooms elements from the chosen colors. At this point, I didn’t know how many I would use, instead, I focused on creating more than enough so that I could play with the elements. Using the analogy of assembling a floral bouquet, I built an inventory of flowers and foliage. With a variety of flowers and foliage on the backgrounds, I decided which items would be in which colors. I began building paper bouquets, without adhering anything. Like a floral bouquet, I used the largest shapes as the focal and supporting flowers, foliage pieces for structure, and the airy accents as delicate details. With the bouquets and lemon plant pieces loosely in place, I used masks, A2– and Mini Slimline-sized, to determine what card base size I would use. After determining the card base sizes, I adhered the elements to the bases. For the card showcasing the Lemon Zest set, I adhered the large leaf element and Smooth Lines “Congrats” first and built from there. For the Mini Slimline card with the tongue-in-cheek “How Old?” sentiment, cut with the Uppercase, Lowercase, and Punctuation sets, I adhered the sentiment to the center and built the clusters of flowers above and below. For the card with the Smooth Lines “Thank You” sentiment, I constructed the upper-left and lower-right floral clusters, adhered the sentiment at an angle, and filled in with smaller florals. Note: I used the circle from the Be Bold Punctuation & More set (the exclamation and question mark dots) for a few of the flower centers. While my cards did not use the collection’s embossing folders, doing so would “step up” the designs. Thanks so much for dropping by today. I hope you are inspired to take a playful approach in your own creations with the Be Bold Collection! Other Supplies Assorted colored cardstock; dimensional adhesive; glue

This card is my last contribution as a member of the Design Team at Christmas Craft Creations. I have been actively participating in many Design teams, consistently now, for ten plus years or so and thought that I would have a complete break for a while. I thought that maybe I would have a little more time to join in with selective challenges which get my creative juices flowing. I shall look forward to joining in with the challenges at CCC as a participant in future! The theme this time is to use the colours Blue and Silver! All of my cards are simple in style and this one involved merely die cutting and dry embossing. The jingle bell dies are from Memory Box. I use an embossing tool on the back of them once cut, to give the impression of roundness and add them using dimensional pads, so as to retain some of the shape, even when mailing! The cord they are on is from a thread die, also from Memory Box which also came with a needle die, but I haven't used that half as much! The embossing on the backdrop is from a Couture Creations EF. The sentiment is from a fab die from Stamplorations. This was stacked and also mounted with dimensional pads. I am looking forward to some spring weather soon, we seem to have had an inordinate amount of rain of late! Take care and stay safe everyone!

On a wander round Blogland I spotted the challenge at Inkspirational where there is a photo for inspiration this time. I used a Simon Says Stamp background stamp embossed in gold on black card for the panel and added a stacked die cut crane (or heron... not 100% sure of my birds) and a simple stacked sentiment. I ummed and ahhed about whether to do something surrounding the panel but in the end just left well alone. I really like gold embossing on deep coloured cardstock!

For my holiday cards, I usually send out a photo card rather than a handmade card. It's just too overwhelming for me to get them done at such a busy time of the year. But, I still do give out quite a few handmade cards along with gifts for teachers, friends and neighbors. So I'm starting this season's stash with this snowflake window card. I die cut the Snowflakes & Ornament Fancy Die from white cardstock and then trimmed off the top ornament hanger part to just have a circle. Then I die cut a circle the same size from watercolor paper using the Nesting Circle Infinity Dies. I created a quick watercolor wash using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. Once my watercolor background was dry, I adhered the snowflake die over the top. Often times when I am adhering delicate pieces like this, I run it thought my die cut machine and it makes everything nice and flat. By doing this it also helped when stamping my sentiment. The edges of the snowflake were flat, so the message could just stamp right over the top with no gaps. The message is from the Winter Holiday Messages stamp set, my favorite new sentiment set for the holidays! Next, I created the card base and circle window. I used the Woodgrain Texture Fancy Die to create a subtle woodgrain texture on a white panel. Then I die cut a circle slightly larger than my snowflake piece from the woodgrain panel and a top folding white card base. I adhered the focal point with foam adhesive so it pops through the front of the window when folded flat. As a finishing touch I used the Crystal Clear Lacquer Pen to create some clear droplets on the card. Thanks for stopping by, hope you have a great day! Don't forget to vote for your favorite MMH kit from the past year if you haven't had a chance to do so yet.... Votes will be accepted until 11:59pm PT tonight!

This post features the new Holiday Labels Motif from the Seasonal Label Motifs Collection from Spellbinders. I loved this set when I first saw it. I love lanterns and that is what really caught my eye. I have two different examples to share with you today and as always, the products used are listed at the end of this post. I used this set to create two Christmas Cards. The first one on the left, I started with an A2 card base to which I added some green cardstock as a mat and then embossed a piece of white cardstock using the Radian Burst Embossing Folder. I wanted it to appear as though the light was shining from the lantern. I then applied two different distress inks using foam daubers to give the rays some color. The lantern was then cut from brushed gold cardstock and the candle was cut out and inserted in to lantern, They were then attached to the front of the card in the center of the burst on the embossing folder. I then cut a red poinsettia and some green holly leaves and berries from the Christmas Blooms die set and attached them as shown. The sentiment was done using the GOM-APR20 Celebrate the Day Glimmer Plates using Viridian Green foil. It was cut out and framed with the same green cardstock that was used for the mat and the holly leaves. It and the poinsettia were popped up using foam squares. As a final touch, I placed an enamel dot in the center of my poinsettia. Here is the finished card. The second card is my favorite of the two. Again, I started out with an A2 base card to which I attached some black paper with shiny gold and mat silver/gray dots scattered on the paper. For this card I used the label and cut it from Solid black, soft yellow, and gray cardstock to match the grey dots on the background paper. It was attached to the front of the card as shown. I then cut the lantern from Mirror Gold cardstock and placed some vellum behind the lantern to look like frosted glass. I then glued the candle in place and attached all to the label on the front of the card. I love bows and needed one for the top of my lantern, so I used the mini bow die and cut one from red cardstock. It was then attached to the top of the lantern on the front of the card. I created three poinsettias using the dies that were included in the set and placed them across the bottom portion of the label. Then I used some gold foil and the Holiday Sentiments 2 Glimmer plates and created the sentiment which was foiled onto white cardstock and popped up on the front of the card using foam squares. As a final touch I added a small Fashion Gold embellishment to the center of the bow. Here is the finished card. I love how pretty, colorful and festive this second card is. I hope you like them both and feel inspired to create some of your own. Please use my Spellbinders Affiliate link or any of the product links below to purchase any items you so desire. I would really appreciate it! Be sure to check back tomorrow for another two projects from this awesome collection! Also, please make a note that I will be re-starting my videos on Facebook soon. Hi everyone! Are you feeling festive yet? Working with greens, candles, lamp posts and snow gets me in the spirit of things! I started with a panel of dark gray cardstock from the Memory Box Eart…
A line from 'The Sound of Music' came to my mind with this card.... warm woollen mittens... some of my favourite things!! The wreath die was free with a mag and in fact the sentiment forms the centre of the die, but I decided to separate it and add it below. The mittens were part of the same freebie set. I cut them out and replaced the Memory Box mittens from the die cut string and added the stamped ones instead. I did another card with the same set and sent it into the magazine and they were kind enough to publish it! This is a spinner card. It's a really nice set! CAS Christmas Challenge - Warm and Cosy

Other sparkly accents include tiny silver flat-back pearls and a large clear sequin in the middle. The sentiment is from the new Winter Word Coordinates stamp set and Winter Words Confetti Cuts dies.
