Weekend brunch are something special for many of us, obviously my weekend brunch goes for many varieties of dishes,from Indian to continental i make varieties of foods just to have with my family as we dont have enough time to have our breakfast together during the week days. Am running my second week of blogging marathon with Weekend Brunch as theme,actually i want to make couple of dishes under this theme but unfortunately i went for easy dishes because of sudden cold. I couldnt make anything earlier actually i dished out everything just before two days back. Somehow am happy that atleast i prepared some weekend brunch easy breezy dishes instead of quitting this week's blogging marathon. Am a great fan of millets and i never forget to add them in our diet quite often, i couldnt resist myself adding millets in our regular dosa batter just to feed easily my family members. This time while soaking the grains for grinding dosa batter, i have prepared a dosa batter with foxtail millets aka thinai in tamil. This dosa batter ressembles as much as like regular dosa batter.Obviously none will notice the addition of millets here, trust me when i served this podi dosa for our weekend brunch everyone enjoyed thoroughly having these crispy dosas. Podi dosas doesnt need any side dish to have with, this podi dosa makes an excellent filling weekend brunch.Check out the Blogging Marathon page for the other Blogging Marathoners doing BM#49. 2cups Foxtail millet/Thinai 1cup Par boiled rice 1/2cup Urad dal 1tsp Fenugreek seeds Horsegram Idli Podi Wash well and soak the foxtail millet with enough water for 4 hours. Soak the rice and urad dal with fenugreek seeds separately for 4-3hours. Drain the water from urad dal and grind it as fine paste. Transfer the urad dal batter to a vessel and grind now both the soaked foxtail millet and rice. Grind them as bit coarse paste. Now mix both the urad dal batter with rice-foxtail millet batter, add salt and keep aside for overnite. After fermentation, give a stir. Heat a griddle,spread a ladle of dosa batter thinly and cook for few minutes. Sprinkle enough idli podi over the dosa, drizzle enough oil over the idli podi. Cook in simmer for few minutes. Fold the dosa as triangle and serve immediately.

Ingredients Urad dal/ Uzhunnu parippu-3/4 cup Channa dal/ Kadala parippu-1/4 cup Coriander seeds-1 tbsp Black pepper corns-1/2 tsp( optional) Curry leaves-2 sprigs Dry red chilies-12 to 15 nos( according to taste) Garlic chopped-4 to 5 cloves Asafoetida-2 generous pinch Salt-to taste Oil-1/2 tsp Directions Heat oil in a pan,add urad dal,channa dal,coriander seeds,black pepper corns and curry leaves.Roast until it turns golden,stirring continuously. Now add dry red chilies,garlic and asafoetida.Roast it until dal turns golden brown. Allow this to cool slightly,add salt to taste and grind to form a coarse / fine powder ,as desired.
