Early morning at the majestic state capitol building in Sacramento, CA. I was trying to get over to the port of Sacramento to scout a couple of cool buildings but could not find my way in...eventually saw this familiar structure and headed toward it just as the sun was about to rise. Yes, I parked in the NO PARKING zone, just to be defiant, haha. The sky wasn't what I had wanted but...[wait for it]..."I'll be back." This is a 2-exposure HDR with a fair bit of processing using photoshop and Nik color efex. I think the lens was the 55/2.8 on the Pentax 645D.

Palm-lined streets like this are a dime a dozen in LA, but I still think it's a great look seeing these spindly fan palms all lined up on either side of the road. This is looking south across Mountain Street. The foothills of the Verdugo Mountains are at my back. A more recent image shows the fan palms lining the road leading away from the Brand Library in Glendale. And this shot shows a Glendale street lined with Canary Island palms.
