Having the fam over for Easter this year? Use these tips and tricks to stay stress-free.
With Easter less than a month away, I've been putting together a few ideas for how I want my tablescape to look for this special holiday. I've decided to go with some pretty pastels that include shades of peach, pink and turquoise. This turquoise tablecloth provides a backdrop to a peach coloured chiffon table runner (Amazon last year). The colours were chosen from these plates I got last year. They are by Bico and are called "Margaret's Garden". (available on Amazon) I started with a round woven placemat followed by a white charger topped with the pretty floral plates. I set one of these faux cookies beside an aqua coloured napin with a birdie napkin ring. This one was butterfly shaped... ...and this one was a little chick. They could easily act as placecard holders and I might add a name tag to each one. I thought my gold-rimmed turquoise/pink stemware went well with the place settings. Blossom shaped tealight holders added a springtime vibe. My gold flatware was tied with white ribbon and set atop the plate stack. A trio of faux tulip arrangements provided a cohesive and coordinated centerpiece. Along with the tulips, I added faux lamb's ear and some white blossoms. The rattan pots tied in with the woven placemats. I tucked in a few bunnies... ...and birdies for some whimsy. Faux taper candles were set in between each of the tulip arrangements. If you need an easy centerpiece idea, remember that a set of three arrangements with candles in between works well. With my Easter tablescape planned out, now I just need to think of what to serve. We've traditionally done a turkey dinner but with out-of-town family visiting, I think I might want to keep it simpler. What do you usually serve on Easter? Thanks for visiting! Celebrate the season with this Easter candy charcuterie board that's packed with our favorite sweets, from Peeps and chocolate Easter eggs to Bird's Nest Cookies.
Hello there! It's been a very long time and I'm not even sure who will even see this. If you follow me on Instagram, you know I'm very active there but somehow haven't made it back to posting here. With that in mind, I thought I'd share my latest tablescape and part of the reason for my absence from the blog. Back in November, we were blessed with the arrival of our second granddaughter, "Presley Reese". Photo by Paisley Photography (LINK) I went to stay with my daughter and SiL to help with the new arrival as well as my older granddaughter. Soon after, it was Christmas and then the time has just flown... ...and now, Easter is almost here! Inspiration for this year's Easter tablesape came from the pastel colours in these beautiful dishes by Bico Ceramics. The pattern is called "Margaret's Garden" (available through Amazon HERE for US and HERE for Canada) and I think it is perfect for Easter, Mother's Day, or any spring/summer gathering. Here's the full view of the table where you can see I used a white tablecloth and layered 3 pale green table runners crisscross on the table. The centerpiece began with a faux floral arrangement in a ceramic basket. I arranged faux tulips, cherry blossoms and overflowing greenery inside the basket. Cylinder vases filled with Easter eggs and tealight candles were placed beside the floral arrangement. Faux greenery and a pip berry wreath encircle the bottom of the vases. An Easter tablescape has to have a few bunnies! These guys sit in front of the center basket. On the opposite end of the table, I filled an apothecary jar with candy Easter eggs and surrounded it with another pip berry wreath. The place settings started with a pink charger followed by the dinner plate, salad plate and bowl in the Bico Ceramic's "Margaret's Garden" pattern. A glass of blush wine and water await. I used my gold flatware for a touch of elegance since this is for Easter dinner. Acrylic knife rests protect the tablecloth from any messes. Little tulip shaped egg cups were filled with candy and placed inside the bowls filled with Easter grass. I printed bunny placecards on my computer. Faux Easter eggs and Easter candy in shades of pastel pink, blue and yellow were scattered over the table. A bird napkin ring seemed perfect for spring! I added some decorative greenery to the chair backs with light blue ribbon. I had a lot of fun putting this tablescape together for Easter and can't wait to add a few more place settings and celebrate with family in two weeks! Another couple shots of my precious granddaughter when she was a newborn... ...how quickly the time has flown... ...and now she is 4 months old! I'm so excited that we'll be spending Easter with my daughter, SiL and granddaughters! Thanks for visiting! These cream puffs take everything I love about a classic carrot cake with cream cheese frosting and packages it nicely inside choux pastry. Golden choux pastry with craquelin is filled with a spiced pastry cream, topped with a velvety whipped cream cheese white chocolate ganache, and studded with chunks of carrot cake.
