Photo Embroidery allows you to pick a favorite photo to have embroidered. Show off your pet, remember your fur baby, have a special photo embroidered for your friend whose pet crossed over the rainbow bridge - almost any photo can be embroidered. Process - 1. You pick which size photo and you send me a message with a high quality photo of your choosing. Send to ALEM.embroidery [!at] gmail.com. *** you must either be the owner of the photo or you must obtain consent from the photographer of the photo. 2. I do a rough digital markup to show you where I might embroider and what designs - I want your feedback and ideas, too! With your input, we decide on a black and white or color photo. 3. Once I have your approval on design, I get the picture printed on Glicee (thicker fine art paper - Semi Gloss 254 gsm) and then embroider the details back in. 4. I send you a picture of the finished piece and ask if you want anything added. 5. When finished, I add kraft paper to the back of the photo to protect the threads. Photos are not framed. 6. The finished photo gets sent off to you!

Starting with vintage photography and illustrations of models sporting fashions from the 1950s, Amsterdam-based artist Hinke Schreuders applies a rich layer of hand-stitched embroidery, beading, lace, and flourishes of ink to entirely new images that can be both unsettling and exuberant. The pieces seen here are part of an ongoing series called Works on Paper, started in 2008. With her work Schreuders says she seeks to “subtly confuse notions of feminine vulnerability and reinforce the position of embroidery as an artistic medium,” something I think we can all agree she has done masterfully. Handmade embroidered original vintage photo made by Supur. It is one of a kind artwork made by Supur. Nature of the ingredients of this artwork is making them unique. The photos i use is original prints and there is no other existing in universe :) I collect vintage photographs and embroider them. They actually whisper to me in the process how to be embroidered. It is a freehand process directed by photos themselves. I always think of who those people are in the photos, what did they do with their lives and how did their photos ended up in secondhand stores. Maybe i will never know but perhaps with this project i can grant them a second glance, a chance to keep on with new meanings. Frame is included.
