This tutorial is a detailed guideline to help you create an embroidery hoop similar to the one in the picture. It is not an exact pattern, but a 'how-to' to spark your own creativity so you can create your own unique piece of embroidery art. Step by step, with lots of pictures, tips and tricks, I show you how I have made this hoop. The embroidery stitches that are used are explained at the end of the tutorial. In this tutorial there is also a link to a video to show you how to do one of the stitches. This particular embroidery was inspired by the structure of lichen but also by microscope images of cell structures. Together they form an imaginary organism. The open core of the organism gives the image some depth. The French knots provide the finishing details. Please notice that this item is a digital tutorial and not a physical product. I have used eco printed and eco dyed fabrics and threads for my hoop but you can choose any fabric or thread that will fit your creative vision to make your own hoop.

Fabric that is stretchy can be a challenge to work with. Here's some helpful tips and tricks for how to embroider on stretchy fabric.
PDF PATTERN ONLY, YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE ANYTHING PHYSICAL, NOTHING WILL BE SHIPPED TO YOU **Now featuring a SECOND color palette!** Need a relaxing project? This bee embroidery pattern is the trick! This pattern would work best for someone who has tried embroidery, but it is absolutely full of beginner friendly instructions. --If you're still wondering if this pattern is right for you, read on! My patterns tend to have a lot of details which can make them more on the intermediate to advanced side. But one of the amazing things about embroidery is how flexible it is. Patterns with lots of details can look overwhelming and it's true they do take time. But you can easily omit finer details or add more if you're advanced. Embroidery is a slow, therapeutic art process. I feel it is so sensory based and relaxing which makes it easy to get lost in a project quickly. Everyone learns at a different pace and will end up having their own style. I believe my patterns to be accessible to all skill levels. I hope you thoroughly enjoy your project! Included in the downloads: ❶ The 5 inch floral bee traceable template pattern ❷ Detailed, comprehensive instructions for making your piece ❸ How to transfer your pattern to fabric ❹ Extensive color guide (x2) ❺ Extensive stitch guide ❻ Essential supply list ❼ My favorite tips and tricks (A traceable template, the list of supplies, and instructions to make your pattern from start to finish are included in this PDF. Here’s a YouTube video I made showing you how to take your pattern from the PDF to your fabric: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ar5eWWBPLkU) What do you need besides the PDF? I list my favorite supplies in the pattern itself, but here are the basics: ✄ 6 strand embroidery floss/thread ✄ An embroidery hoop. This pattern calls for a 5 inch hoop but you can zoom in or out for a different size. ✄ Scissors. For fabric and smaller snips (if you prefer) for the thread. ✄ Fabric. I like using 100% cotton. Just make sure you aren't using material that is too stretchy or has a loose weave like burlap. The pattern itself is for a 6 inch hoop, but it can be zoomed in or out on your computer to change sizes. Feel free to experiment with color! I include a color guide but ultimately this project is for you so have fun with it. A gentle reminder that nothing will be shipped to you. All items are in digital format to be downloaded by you after purchase. After your complete your purchase, you will be able to find the PDF links on your purchase page and you will receive an email with the link to download. *This pattern and instructions are property of Maggie Schnucker, Maggie Jo's Studio and are for or personal use only.
