This is a 1940s Embroidery and sewing design. We have taken this Potholder and Embroidery embroidery transfer and recreated it in to a PDF file that is instantly down loadable. When you purchase this pattern you will be sent an email with a link to your pattern. This PDF file can be downloaded instantly once payment has been made. All patterns are taken from our collection of Vintage patterns. All designs are out of print and hard to find. Each pattern is in public domain. This pattern was taken from an expired Aunt Martha 33801 Fruit for Potholders or Towels * A Color copy of the front and back of the original envelope * The original directions for seven potholders * The seven potholders are an apple, pineapple, pear, strawberry, watermelon, butterfly and a mushroom * There are 4 smaller fruit designs to be used for embroidery * There is a strawberry border and a corner design of mushrooms. * Instructions on how to apply your design to fabric * Directions for tinting fabric with color crayons Copyright information; this pattern was first printed 8/12/1972 and passed into public domain 8/12/2000. Here on Etsy we specialize in PDF files. If you would like reproduction iron on transfers you might want to check out Blondie's Spot on eBay. Both types of patterns have advantages. The PDF files you will get instantly but you will need a transfer pen to apply them to your fabric. The reproduction iron on transfers are great because you don't need the pen and you can iron them directly to your fabric, but you do have to wait for them to come in the mail. Join us on Pinterest, there we try to pin all of our patterns in one spot. We also try to find tutorials for the crafts you might like to try. Blondie's Spot is also on Face book. There we share new patterns. We would love to share pictures of your finished projects. If you finish a project and give us permission to use it in our listings we will give you a free pattern. Just let us know the pattern number of the project that you finished. If we can use your picture we will send you the free pattern of your choice. We have been on EBay since 2002 please feel free to check our feedback there. One more thing we have created a group on Face book Blessed Hats for Cancer. There we take donations of materials and finished hats. We then donate them to local oncology sites and hospitals. When I was having chemotherapy I saw a need for hats. I noticed that most people preferred hats over wigs. For those who love to knit and crochet we would love to share your hats with others. Thanks and God bless. John 4:14

Part 2 : Drawing the patterns One of the easiest ways to achieve success with these vintage pictures is to use the picture itself as a basis for your line art. So, as you saw in part one, you first take a picture of the desired design, using the macro setting on your camera. This allows you to use even the tiniest of catalog pictures. And even if they are on quite dark newsprint, you can play a few tricks. In this first pic, you can see how I chose to outline with a very dark ink pen, the very most basic lines, and then, since these were printed on very dark newsprint, I also needed to lighten the pics up. This is the same pic, lightened. And here, you can see the final result. Unfortunately, I kind of messed up a bit on the final line drawing, & I will redo it later, but for the sake of this post, it stays as is. ;-D And here are the rest of the patterns for these hats. If you copy them or use them, please link back to me, & please, I am not charging you to get them, don't you be selling the patterns to others. ;-D

Instant Digital Download If you have any interest in Creating Stitch Patterns for Embroidery or Needlework then this is a great book to have in your collection. ****====================================================**** My Personal 100% Guarantee To You If you Buy this Book and after reading it, You feel that You did not get Your Money's worth from it, Message me and I will cancel your purchase and Refund Your Money. And You Can Keep The Book as My Personal Gift To You. ****====================================================**** PREFACE In the preface to the first edition of " Simple Stitch Patterns for Embroidery," I explained that my object was not to compete with the books on embroidery and fine needlework already written by experts, but to devise a simple and direct method of decorative stitchery for workers with little leisure for fine work, and to help teachers, dressmakers, and others to be independent of the printed transfers and designs. The success of " Simple Stitch Patterns " has encouraged me to carry further the method of building up orderly and balanced designs on stitches and groups of stitches, and adding to the number and variety of suggestive patterns, thereby, I hope, giving practical help while fostering the love of pattern-making which is inherent in almost all of us. Some of the patterns shown here require more skill than do those in the above book, and though this book may be considered a development of it, neither is in any way dependent on the other. The method and use of the two simple gauges explained here have in practice been much appreciated as a means of introduction to original elementary design for craftwork generally. My grateful appreciation is here recorded to Miss Grace Brandon for valuable help with diagrams and proof corrections. A. B.-J.
