Have you ever taken a layout "gamble"?? Where you have an idea in your head...and it might be cool and it might be a flop? But you give it a shot and hope for the best? That would be the case with my latest Gossamer Blue Pinspired layout, which went...
I'm so happy to be a part of this great day over at Scrapbook and Cards Today. It's become an annual tradition of inspiration, prizes, and this year, a cool surprise indeed! Make sure you head over every hour, there will be a new post up when the clock strikes twelve. Starting at 8 AM Eastern (note time change, too much to pack into 12 hours, we had to start even earlier), all the way until 9 PM, you have chances to win very generous giveaways from our sponsors. My hour is 1 PM and I've got an easy Photoshop trick for you. My hour's manufacturing sponsor is Maya Road, and since I work for them, Caroline let me pick what the giveaway would be. So I picked some of my favorite things, narrowed them down and here you are! We'd love to have you stop by every hour, but if life gets in the way, you've got a week to enter each of the drawings. Pretty sweet deal, don't you think?

Hello there my scrappy friends. It is mid month reveal over at Color Story Inspiration. It is winter in the Southern Hemisphere where I live and I am longing for summer...so this was the perfect case file to scrap a happy summer vacation photo. Supply list: Patterned paper: Felicity Jane (Elizabeth, Alexis); Cardstock: Felicity Jane; Chipboard: Felicity Jane (Elizabeth, Jeana); Flowers: Little Birdie, Celebr8; Die cuts: Felicity Jane (Elizabeth); Embroidery Floss: DMC. The Case File: I used the case file in the traditional way: The Scheme: I switched out the sand colour for soft pink but all the rest of the colours were used. Evidence: Stripes, Summer themed elements, drinks, camera, sunglasses, fringe. Testimony: I documented a visit to our happy place in Plettenberg Bay and used the inspiration word "Relax" as my title. I used this pagemap as a guide: Some close ups details I cut the rounded squares with a Quickutz die. I then stitched around each and every square. I placed my title on a speech bubble from Studio Calico that was living in my stash for many years Some of the squares were die cut from journaling cards that is part of the Elizabeth collection. I placed the summer themed elements on some of the squares. For my photo mat I cut a piece of patterned paper and then attached fringe to the sides to mimic a towel. Thank you for visiting my blog today. I hope you have been inspired to play along with these amazing challenges ♥
After 10 years in Chicago, I quit my job as a music teacher, we packed up our family of five and headed back home to Wisconsin. We now live in a 90 year old house outside of Madison, WI. This blog includes a little of this and a little of that, but mostly scrapbooking and other creative endeavors!
Lucile took her scrapbooking off the page and onto her walls with this sweet Friendship Frame. Using pattern papers to back the photos she placed those inside the sections of the frame and then dec…

Hi everyone! Kerstin here today to show you how I created this cute “happy moments” star mini album. I've wanted to make this kind of mini album for a long time but, as it is, something has always kept me from it. When I saw the "happy moments" die cut in the Emily Die Cut Shapes I knew it ... now I'll make a star mini

Hello crafty friend! Have you seen the Wildflower Collection by Simple Stories? This is one of their newest collections and it is a collaboration with My Mind's Eye. If you've been in this hobby for a long time, you know about MME. If not, let me tell you: their designs are amazing, but sadly they are no longer making scrapbooking products. The designs of their collections are very elegant with a hint of vintage and the color palettes they use are gorgeous! Now, having these two incredible companies together you must know it is an amazing collection and today, I'm sharing my first layout using Wildflower. I love how this layout turned out, since I love using flowers in my designs and this one has lots of them. Let me tell you how I made it and if you want to see me creating this page, don't miss the process video at the end. In this layout, I wanted to incorporate various patterned papers. This is why I started this page by choosing five papers from Wildflower and the background cardstock is Winter Mint from Color Vibe. I cut the pink to 2 1/2" x 12", tore the edge, distressed it, and bent it a little to add texture to the border and give it a vintage look. Then, I cut the striped paper to 3/4" x 12", the gray one to 5" x 6" and chose the yellow 4" x 6" card from one of the papers in the collection as a mat for the photo. With the same gray paper, I cut a scalloped border using an old paper punch I had from Stampin' Up. To continue with the vintage look, I distressed the edges of all the papers, then glued them together using liquid adhesive for the border and tape in the other papers. For more texture, I stitched on the striped paper and on the gray mat. Then, I added a border of numbers washi tape on top of the pink paper. Once I had all the papers ready, I started to embellish the layout. For the title, I used the foam words stickers from Wildflower, mixing a phrase and a big word to create the title "Live Simply Everyday". The flowers cluster on the left side was made using die cuts from the different packs in the collection, but mostly from the floral one. Also, you can see a yellow piece with small red florals that I fussy cut from one of the papers. For the journaling, I printed it onto a piece of Warm White cardstock from Simple Stories Color Vibe, which is the perfect white tone for this collection. I added the journaling on top of one of the cut apart cards of the papers. I finished this area by adding other die cuts, enamel dots, brads, and a butterfly sticker. The cluster on the right side was made by mixing die cuts and fussy cut flowers. To create the layers on the layout, I like to use foam tape behind my embellishments. In this one, I also added enamel dots, brads, die cuts, and stickers, all from Wildflower. On top of the photo, I added a die cut tab with a phrase sticker and flower. With this, I finished this beautiful layout. It was so much fun creating with this gorgeous collection.
