The elves have been busy this week. Scurrying around, unpacking boxes, hanging greens and ribbons, ornaments and garlands. Doing their best to get this place in shape to ring in the holidays. You may remember Lucky, our three-legged horse who is usually in the kitchen. Right now he is under the stairs with my grandfather's little green sled. The entry hall table is layered with plaid and greens and a silver polo player that I found while antiquing a few years back. Will post more photos tomorrow. It has been a labor of love working to decorate the place this season. Will be sad to think the next time we open the plastic Christmas bins --- we may very well be in a new or temporary place next year. It will be fine! I truly believe that home is where the heart is. God is good. :) Please find me on a daily basis on Instagram at Polohousestyle!

It's really a MUST if this is the look that you wish to achieve. It has been around for over 250 years and manufactured and copied on and off through the years so it can be found in a wide price range. Older rare pieces are extremely pricey, but if you look -- you can find a piece or a collection that is perfect for you. Read more on collecting Staffordshire here. Have a pair of these sweet little lions on bases that I bought because of their kind expressions though they are reproductions. We found a matching pair of these large handsome glass-eyed lions in a Paris flea market years ago. This little Dalmation dog has a poorly repaired tail -- though he is very old. 3 GALLERY WALLS paintings anywhere and everywhere via 4 OLD TRUNKS/BOXES 5 TAPESTRIES/RUGS A French Aubusson tapestry cartoon framed in the living room. 6 EQUINE OR CANINE ARTWORK Southern Accents Magazine via I have mostly equine --- for obvious reasons. :D 7 PAISLEY/PLAID/CHINTZ/TICKING Though we don't have any chintz or ticking here, we do have an abundance of paisleys and plaids, tweeds, herringbones, and a few printed florals.
