Luisa Marietta Gold spent much of her adult life in Pennsylvania working for a large corporation. After her daughter was born, she relocated to North Carolina and began working as a Realtor while operating a recreational business with her husband. Her current home is near a lake reminiscent of the Rideau Lakes, which provided the setting for The Osprey Cove Lodge Series. The series was born from her love of that region of Canada, the outdoors, and lake life. Many years were spent enjoying the Rideau, staying in lodges, and for a time, her own cottage. Among her interests are swimming, painting, gardening, cooking, baking, and of course, writing and storytelling. But it’s the simple things of life that bring the most enjoyment, like the beauty of the trees outside the window of her writing room as they change with the seasons, watching the sunrise and sunset, and being entertained by her kitties as they interact and play. Many of these interests and life experiences are woven into the pages of her books.

Lake Of Sins: Escape by L.S. O'Dea is book one in the Lake of Sins series. In this book we meet Trinity, a 16-year-old producer, living in a camp but not for long. The harvest list is coming and Trinity will be moved from the camp when this happens. Trinity decides to leave the camp and find out what happens to those taken before her and return to tell everyone where they go. Trinity is different from the other producers and even though she hides her differences well, she is still not liked and has no friends. This is the reason Trinity decides to leave and find out what happens to the others. Trinity hopes that this will make the others like her. Once she leaves the camp, things start going wrong. We learn about producers, house servants, almightys, trackers, handlers and a wide range of amazing yet deadly creatures. Trinity begins her adventure and is dragged into a world she could never have imagined. I devoured Lake of Sins in two sittings and could not put it down. It was an amazing world filled with scary monsters and things that are made of nightmares, but there are also caring, loving people and creatures that have you cheering for this world. It was great to learn of the Great Death and of the deformed creatures that now roam the world. It was amazing to discover what happens to the producers if they are not paired to mate, and it was something I had not expected to happen. This is a series I will be keeping an eye out for and I have a feeling it is only going to get better.
