Hello, dear friends. Did you have a good week? If you were lucky enough to be on Spring Break, I imagine you did. Mine was pretty good, and it seemed to fly by. The bookshelves are built, the desk and console have arrived, the paint is chosen, and the fabric is in transit, which brings me to the halfway mark of my office renovation. The other day I was thinking about Easters of the past. There are not a lot of them that I remember. I already bored you with the Bunny Cake Escapade with Sista. Another Easter that I remember from my childhood was when I was about nine years old. I was a proud Girl Scout not so much for the camaraderie and projects but more so for the uniform. I got to wear it to school in place of my Catholic school uniform on Tuesdays when we had our meetings. Two of the "cool" girls in my group had a Girl Scout pocketbook. Do you remember when we used to call them that? Anyway, I thought it was the most beautiful thing in the whole world. Forget the badges; all I wanted was that darn pocketbook. My parents were not the most creative people in the world. They hid our Easter baskets in two places - behind the heavy green drapes in the living room or behind the door in the new room. The new room was our den which was winterized in 1965. It continued to be referred to as the new room for the next thirty years. On the morning of my ninth Easter, I found my little green beauty behind the door. I can't tell you what my Sista got because I only had eyes for my beautiful green pocketbook. Tuesday couldn't come fast enough. I'm happy to report that my fellow Scouts were pea-green with envy when they spotted my new fashion accessory. Walmart Have you nodded off yet? The other Easter that comes to mind is when we surprised our girls with a Little Tykes pink plastic house. They were three and four years old, and we lived in Florida at the time. We set it up in the backyard. It looked a little like the one above. It was open on the bottom and didn't come with a floor. I thought they would jump out of their skin; they were so excited. And it lasted a whole twenty minutes. They discovered a few ants in the grass, which was in their home away from home. Not a lot, just what you would normally see. They came running into the house and asked their Daddy if he could put carpeting in their new pink and white dream home. It turns out that those first twenty minutes were the longest amount of time that they spent in their new casa. Enough about me. Ahead, I have more Easter inspo and lots of other fun stuff.
