Completed cross stitch, caffeine skeletal formula with the word "caffeine" completed in a 3" natural wood embroidery hoop. ---THE DEETS--- This listing is for one small cross stitch as pictured in the first photo. Other molecules are available; check out my shop for details. *FRAME: Natural wood embroidery hoops are standard for this pattern, as shown here. Let me know via convo if you would like yours to be framed in a different style hoop or a small secondhand frame, before checking out, and I'll see what I have available. *GIFT WRAP: A small extra charge covers the cost of my gift-wrapping materials, and you can select gift wrap as an option as you check out. I use plain, colored paper, with a felt belt around it and a plain folded notecard. The gift wrap color varies, and I usually try to match it somewhat with the color scheme of the item inside. If this is going directly to the recipient, let me know in the notes to seller at checkout what you'd like the note to say, and please make sure I have the correct address to send it to! I never include paper receipts in shipping, so your recipient won't know the deets of your order. :) *SHIP: This will ship via USPS first class with delivery confirmation, or international first class. It will ship within a week, and possibly sooner if I have one in stock, unless a delay is noted in my shop banner, announcements, or shop policies, or I contact you via convo or email to let you know about an issue that's arisen. Please let me know if you're on a deadline so I can prioritize accordingly; if you believe your items might not arrive in time for your deadline, please contact me in advance of your order, and please spring for the extra few dollars to upgrade your shipping if you're within the U.S.! :) ---THE LINKS--- Back to the shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/aliciawatkins ---THE LEGAL STUFF--- These designs are copyright Alicia Watkins 2016. THIS IS A KNITTING PATTERN NOT A FINISHED SWEATER! This is a very easy pattern which you will be able to knit in your pjs, watching netflix with chocs and a bottle of red (If that’s your thing)! The Tilly Turtle Sweater is knitted from the waist band up. We knit some 1x1 ribbing, some stocking stitch in the round and then separate the front and back panels. We work both front and back panels in flat stocking stitch, do some neckline shaping and some 3 needle bind off. We then pick up stitches around the arm holes, knit the baggy sleeves and choose an option for our sleeve cuffs! :) For me, the most exciting part to knit is the neckline, which you can knit short, long or LONGER!!!! You can knit this baby up with stash yarn or with a strand of chunky yarn- be as EXTRA as you’d like! Video Tutorial links can be found as you work up the pattern. :) The Tilly Turtle Sweater has been designed to have between 5-13cm/2-4 inches of positive ease, meaning that it will be roomy. Please size up or down if you wish for a looser or more snug fit. The bust size of the actual sweater goes from 80cm/ 31 inches- 160cm/ 63 inches The length is totally customisable! Tension: In stocking stitch, with 7mm needles, working flat (one row knit, one row purl). 10 stitches = 9.5cm/ 3.7 inches (width) 10 rows = 7cm/ 2.75 inches (length) Materials: Size 7mm circular needles (or whichever size needle gets you the correct gauge) with an 80cm cord or longer and a shorter cord for the neckline ribbing. I used an 80cm cord for the entire sweater and used the magic loop technique for the neckline and sleeves! Please use whatever size needles needed to get correct gauge. Size 6mm circular needles for the ribbing 6mm double pointed needles in case you want to use this method for the sleeve cuffs or the neckline ribbing BOR stitch marker Stitch holder or scrap yarn to hold stitches Darning needle to seam panels and for weaving in ends A good glass of wine! **Yarns:** Chunky Yarn which recommends using a 6-7mm needle. Please use 1 strand for this yarn! I am all for stash busting and making something beautiful out of what you already have in your yarn stash! Yarn amounts Because this pattern is a stash buster and different types of yarn can be heavier than others (e.g. cotton is heavier than merino) it is quite tricky to get an approximate yarn amount for this pattern. Please use the measurements below as a guide. If using Double Knitting (DK) weight yarn with three strands held together you will need between 550 and 1300 grams. If using Aran/Worsted weight yarn with two strands held together you will need between 600 and 1350 grams. If using Chunky weight yarn you will need between 700 and 1500 grams. I am an artist with a passion for texture, surface and space, creating unique printed and stitched abstract pieces. My surrounding environment has always influenced me the most; I’m drawn to the insignificant and overlooked. I take photographs all the time, especially when travelling. As in the Japanese aesthetic wabi-sabi, I treasure the imperfections found in the natural changes that occur in such things as weathered wood, crumbling plaster and peeling paint. My aim is to create fragment like pieces that realise these aesthetic qualities.

The Paul Sweater is worked from the top down in stockinette stitch. First, the left and right shoulders are worked separately before being joined into a single piece. After that, stitches are picked up to work the back. Then, stitches are picked up again to work the right and left fronts. German Short Rows are used to ensure a comfortable fit at the shoulders. Once all the parts are completed, they are joined for knitting in the round. Next, stitches are picked up to work the neckline in a 1x1 rib, worked in the round. Finally, the stitches are picked up to work the sleeves in the round. Examples of knitted projects can be found on Instagram under the hashtag #paul_sweater The gray sweater in the photo is knitted in Pernilla by @filcolana (col. marzipan) & Kid Seta by @gepardgarn (col.103) Sizes: XS / S / M / L / XL / 2XL / 3XL The Paul Sweater has a slightly oversized fit and is designed to have approx. 20 cm 7¾ in of positive ease with slightly reduced ease in larger sizes, to ensure a more comfortable fit. This means the garment’s measurements will be approx. 20 cm 7¾ in larger than your actual bust circumference. The sizes XS / S / M / L / XL / 2XL / 3XL are designed to fit a bust circumference of 80-85 / 85-90 / 90-95 / 95-100 / 100-110 /110-120 / 120-130 cm 31½-33½ / 33½-35½ / 35½-37½ / 37½-39½ / 39½-43¼ / 43¼-47¼ / 47¼-51¼ in. Before you begin, measure yourself to determine the right size. For example, if your bust circumference is 90 cm 35 in, you should knit a size M. If you are between sizes, choose the size based on how loose you prefer the sweater to fit. Using the diagram with the finished garment measurements can be a helpful reference when deciding which size to select. This luxurious throw is written for sizes to cover every member of the family – the smallest size is perfect for babies, while the largest size makes a beautiful bed-top coverlet. Be sure to follow the set of numbers within the parentheses that correspond to the size you will be knitting. The size of the finished throw can be adjusted further based on the number of repeats worked. To increase or decrease the finished width of your blanket, add or subtract sets of 18 stitches to/from your original cast-on number for working extra repeats of the Hourglass Lace bracketed motif. Length may be adjusted by adding or subtracting 32-stitch vertical repeats of the Hourglass Lace chart. Designer: Anne Hanson Collection: Wool People, Volume 1
This garter stitch shawl is worked from one side to the other and uses short rows to create a ruffle along the bottom edge. It also features a "collar" in the middle for extra warmth. Inspired in part by the costuming in the BBC dramatization of Elizabeth Gaskell's Cranford, the shawl is designed to be like Mrs. Gaskell's female protagonists in the book -- functional and practical while still having a bit of something pretty. This shawl is worked at a fairly dense gauge for the weight of yarn in order to create a warm, though stretchy, fabric. A lighter weight of yarn may be substituted, but be aware that doing so may result in a finished shawl that differs in its dimensions from those specified in the pattern. This pattern has been test knit and tech edited.
