Pierre Paulin for Artifort, lounge chair model F582, metal, upholstery, France, design 1966 Like the nickname ‘Ribbon’ already assumes, does the F582 lounge chair designed by Pierre Paulin in 1966 resembles a fluid, soft structure. Reminding of a ribbon the leg floats directly into the seat and arm- and backrest. The dynamic, two-parted structure rests on a metal pedestal. The beige upholstery emphasizes the sculptural character of Paulin’s iconic design. Please note that the item is in good, used condition. Reupholstery is possible before shipping by our experienced craftsman in our own in-house restoration atelier. With high attention for the original, they make sure every piece retains its value and is ready for the many years to come. We kindly ask you to contact our design experts for further information about the endless possibilities our restoration and upholstery atelier has to offer. Of course, a locally organized reupholstery is possible as well. Pierre Paulin (1927-2009) was a French post-war designer who studied sculpture. Paulin saw the importance of the social role of design and for this he looked at Nordic modernity and simplicity for inspiration. A great talent of Paulin was that he could envision the concepts of his furniture in 3D in his mind. Paulin was someone who researched his design thoroughly. Please note that we currently have a second chair in our collection. VAT within the EU: When buying or delivering an item within the EU, VAT usually applies and will be added.
