F4U Corsair render from 2 years ago. One of the coolest plane designs if you ask me! Rendered and modeled in 3ds max.

Vought F4U Corsair 2019 edit. A little more than five years have passed since I build my first Corsair, and it`s beginning to show it`s age. The waterslide decals I used earlier, are slowly peeling off, and the bricks I painted in classic blue Lego color are turning almost purple. So after Ralph S. posted his lately redesigned F4U Corsair, I decided mine was due for an update too. A lot of new pieces have become available in dark blue, so the brick-palette doesn`t set any limitation if you want to build a WWII US Navy plane. Quite much of the old model is reused in the new one. Mainly the wing-design and the inner core of the fuselage which hold the Technic connection that are the key element to the gull wing geometry. In order to make the checkerboard pattern on the engine cowling, the complete nose section is a new design. It did cost me quite some headaches, but in the end a combination of brackets under the cowling helped me get it right, and the propeller turns! Also the cockpit have been redesigned. Increased slightly in height, and in my opinion a better front and side profile. At last a more complete looking (but not folding) landing gear is added, with smaller main wheels and gear doors.
I was never completely happy with the pictures I took of my F4U Corsair. I think that they never captured the shape of the model very well. Seeing Mike Psiaki's really nice model prompted me to have another go at taking decent shots of mine, showing off its attributes.
