Today I received an email from a stamper named Susan requesting instructions for a card I posted a while ago called a Cascading Fold card. The card was made by my awesome stamping friend Debbie Evoy. Susan wants to recreate the card for her granddaughter's birthday. I thought since I was giving Susan instructions that maybe someone else would be interested in them. Here is the Debby's card and link to my post on the Cascading Fold cards I made, using a different technique: Click here to see the original post Here Is the Card I Made: Cutting Instructions:Cardstock A: (MELON MAMBO) Cut one piece of A for card base measuring 5 ½” x 5 ½” and score at 4 ¼”, burnish on the fold line so crease is at the outside edge like a normal card. Cut one piece of A for 2nd layer measuring 5 1/2” x 3 ¾” score at 4 ¼” and burnished at fold line. Cut one piece of A for bottom front layer measuring 2” x 4 ¼”. Cut one piece A for inside sentiment layer measuring 3 1/8" x 2 7/8" Cardstock B (PETAL PINK) Cut one piece of B for inside card base mat measuring 5 ¼” x 4” Cut one piece of B for 2nd layer mat 4" x 3 1/2" Cut one piece of B for bottom layer mat measuring 1 ¾” x 4” Small scraps for floral pieces and butterflies. Cardstock C (Basic White ) Cut one piece of C for layer on inside of base measuring 3 1/8” x 2 3/4” Scrap for sentiment DSP (Meandering Meadows #162735 Online Exclusive): Cut one piece of DSP for Inside Base Mat measuring 5 1/8 x 3 7/8”, Cut one piece of DSP for 2nd layer mat measuring 3 ¼” x 3 ¾” Cut one piece of DSP for bottom front layer 1 5/8” x 3 7/8” Assembling Base Layers: 1. Adhere the B1 layer to card base mat. 2. Adhere DSP1 5 1/8” x 3 7/8” mat to B1 mat. 3. Adhere A2 mat 3 5/8” x 3 ¼” to the bottom of the base DSP piece. Leave equal margins around sides and bottom edge. 4. Adhere C1 mat to A2. I suggest stamping neutral piece with sentiment and design before adhering it. Here's all the pieces of the base mat. Assembling 2nd Layer: 1. Adhere the A2 layer mat to the finished base layer. Fold at the score line and add adhesive to the back to adhere. 2. Adhere B2 mat to the second layer base. 3. Adhere DSP 2 piece the 3 ¼ x 3 ¾ to the card B2 mat. Assembling Bottom Front Layers: 1. Adhere A3 piece (1 ¾ x 4”) to the edge of the second layer. 2. Adhere B3 piece to A3. 3. Adhere DSP3 to B3 4. Decorate with floral and add sentiment. Assembling Cascading Layers: 1. Start with the base card with the folded piece with burnished fold on left side. Line up the 2nd layer so it is even with the bottom and side of the base layer and adhere it by running glue on the back of the fold line. 2. Repeat this with the bottom front layer. 3. Starting with the base cut from the top corner across the diagonal to the 2nd layer 4. Starting with the 2nd layer cut from the corner on the diagonal to the bottom layer. I hope you found this tutorial easy to work with. I'd love to hear from you. HAPPY STAMPING! Hello friends, Here’s a fancy fold masculine card using the Sailing Home stamp set (#c149457). The cardstock I have used is Whisper White (#106549), Misty Moonlight (#153086) and Seaside Spray (#150889). There is quite a lot of cutting for this card. The base card is the normal size card - 14.9cm x 10.5cm. The Whisper White card at the front is 23cm x 4cm and scored in half (11.5cm) on the long side and 1cm at each end. The middle white layer is 18cm x 7cm and scored in half (9cm) on the long side and 1cm at each end. The back white layer is 12cm x12cm and scored in half (6cm) and 1 cm at each end. The Misty Moonlight card sizes are as follows and 2 required for each size - 3.5cm x 10cm 6.5cm x 7.5cm 11.5cm x 4.5cm 13.9cm x 9.5cm Seaside Spray card sizes as follows and 2 required of each size - 6cm x 7cm 11cm x 4cm 13.4cm x 9cm I stamped the lighthouse and small boat with Misty Moonlight ink (#153118), the larger boats and sentiments with Merry Merlot ink (#147112) and the anchor with Basic Gray ink (#147118). The Seaside Spray cards were all dry embossed with the Seabed 3D Embossing Folder (#152700) and the Misty Moonlight card on the front layer with the Hammered Metal 3D embossing folder (#150646). Each of the stamped images were cut with the Smooth Sailing Dies (#149576). I also cut the wheel from Silver Foil (#132178) and the rope from Copper Foil (#142020) and the seaweed from Misty Moonlight card. The sentiment is from the Many Mates stamp set (#c152633) and cut with the Stitched Rectangles Dies (#151820). I used Stampin’ Dimensionals (#104430) and Mini Glue Dots (#103683) to attach all the elements to the card. Have a great day. lesleyjendra.stampinup.net [email protected]

I have a fabulous display card to share with you today, featuring five little flags that project from the centre of the card, giving it it's name. Despite how it looks, it's not too difficult to create and will fold up nicely for posting in a standard envelope. 1. You'll need one piece of heavy patterned paper measuring 10" long x 6" high, one piece of cardstock measuring 8" long x 6" high, and five 2" squares of cardstock for the flags. Extra patterned paper and embellishments will be needed for decoration once the base is created. 2. Score the piece of cardstock and fold in half to form a 6" x 4" card. Set aside. 3. Place the patterned paper horizontally on your scoreboard and score at 2", 3", 4", 5", 6", 7" and 8". 4. Concertina fold the card, starting and ending with valley folds. You should have three peaks in the centre of the paper and a 2" flat section on each side. Refer to the photo below. 5. Apply adhesive on the back of the 2" flat sections on either side of the patterned paper. DO NOT apply any adhesive to the concertina section in the middle. 6. Line up the adhesive ends of the patterned paper with the sides of the card blank and press firmly in place. The concertina section should be free to fold and unfold as you open and close the card. Set aside. 7. It's easier to decorate the "flags" at this point rather than after you have secured them to the card. Add some patterned paper, stamps, images and other embellishments as desired. Keep in mind that any decorations you add should be flat as they will be included in the folds of the card. 8. Apply adhesive to the half of the "flag" that will attach to the card. Double check before you add any glues or tapes to make sure you're applying it to the correct side. 9. Start by adhering the centre "flag" halfway up the middle fold. I used a centring ruler to make sure I placed it correctly. 10. Now adhere two flags on the first fold, one flush with the top of the card, and one flush with the bottom. 11. Apply the last two flags on the last fold, one flush with the top of the card and one flush with the bottom. 12. Decorate the front of the card as desired. I used a digital image, coloured with copic markers, some ribbon and patterned paper. The card is quite bulky when complete, so you might like to create a belly band or ribbon tie to hold it closed. I think this fold would be fabulous for Christmas, decorated with lots of different sized snowflakes, glitter and snowmen. I hope you'll give it a try!
