Father's Day cards are a great chance to show your dad how much you appreciate him. These cards are sure to make your dad smile!
Hi everyone, I just popped on to share a couple of cards I made for Father's Day, which is this Sunday here in Australia. For those of you who follow my blog, you may remember this Chocolate Box card from our Art with Heart's Team, June blog hop. I designed this to fit a 200g size Cadbury chocolate block, and I wanted to make it again for a Father's Day gift. Here, I have used Basic Black cardstock, a little Very Vanilla and some Christmas DSP, which in this instance, is a great design for a masculine card. The DSP is from our Christmas/Holiday catalogue, which went live today - yay! The name of the DSP is Christmas Around the World, and is on page 29 of the catalogue. If you don't have a copy yet and would like one, just let me know and I will pop one in the post for you. On the inside, I added a piece of Very Vanilla for the writing panel. The greeting on the front is from the 'Guy Greetings' stamp set in the Annual Catalogue and it was stamped onto Very Vanilla and cut out with a regular Layering Oval Framelit die and mounted on a Basic Black scalloped oval. It looked a bit plain, so I added a bow-tie made with the Bow Builder punch. This next card I made is for my hubby. I've used Night of Navy, Smoky Slate and Whisper White. This card design was CASE'D from Dawn Griffith, an Independent Demonstrator from America, it is called a Z Fold Gift Card Holder and she has a video tutorial on YouTube. Again, I have used images and words from the 'Guy Greetings' stamp set and dry embossed using the Cable Knit Dynamic TIEF. I really like the way this cards sits up. You certainly can't buy this style of card in the shops, and there is something very special about handmade cards - don't you think? Well that's it for today, thanks for stopping by. Wishing all dad's a very Happy Father's Day on Sunday. Until next time... Happy Crafting 😊
As much as I've been enjoying all the lovely pink and floral paper collections, I decided it was time to use a masculine 6x6 paper pad. It was challenging finding one that wasn't kiddish and would still work well for the cards I need. I found the Hey Mister collection from My Mind's Eye and
Hello, Happy June 1st! The month where teachers and students, at least here, will be sprung free for the summer! Can you tell *someone* is counting down the days? Still a stack of marking to get done, but I'm close to finished...very close *whew* Come June 30th I'm sure you'll hear me cheering! Anyway, my husband is on his way back from this evening's 'short' bike ride (an 'epic' planned for tomorrow, around 180 km...yes, I know...he's a bit 'obsessed' *grin*) so I'll be super quick. It's time for a new Just Add Ink challenge & Jan has set us a well timed challenge to create a card for males, since it's Father's Day on September 6th in Australia. I ran a masculine card class last weekend too so I combined the challenge with my class card. I do love a man in a suit (whether it's my own darling man, James Bond, or maybe even a dressed up Mr Cumberbatch or the guys from Suits), so I created this formal / tuxedo type suit card. It was very popular with my class lovelies so hope you like it too. My card was adapted from this awesome card & tutorial by Sarah Jane Rae, which I pinned a while ago. I adapted her idea to make a smaller card using a standard half A4 sheet to fit a regular C6 envelope (the card front is 10 x 14.8cm or approx 4 x 6 inches). Sarah's card front was about double this size. I used the envelope punch board to make my bow tie). I used some White Perfect Accent dots for the shirt buttons. I also added a belly band around the front to add a bit more detail & space for a sentiment - birthday & Father's Day versions. The birthday sentiment is from Birthday Blossoms & I also used White Perfect Accents dots coloured with a black sharpie marker - easy! You can see the other sentiment in this pic: I really liked how Sarah attached the shirt front to one side of the jacket so I did this too. This larger picture shows more detail. The card opens up to show a large space for your message. I stamped the birthday version with the fantastic sentiment from Happy Birthday Everyone, a must-have stampin' rewards only stamp set from the annual catalogue. The ' to a wonderful man' sentiment is from this set too. I was hoping to share my instructions to make my card in this post but it's taken much longer to prepare than I expected, so I'll post them separately - hopefully sometime tomorrow - & edit this post to include the instructions link too. Edited 21 August, 2pm Re-edited 23 August 7pm SUIT CARD TEMPLATES & BOW TIE TUTORIAL IS HERE! Please refer to Sarah Jane's suit card tutorial for instructions to make a large suit card. Use the measurements in my templates to reduce size to my standard size card version (14.8 x 10cm or 6 x 4 inch front) with an envelope punch board bow tie. If you have questions or need more info about making my smaller version, please leave me a comment including your e-mail addy & I'll be happy to help. VIEW & DOWNLOAD MY SUIT-TUXEDO TEMPLATES & BOW TIE TUTORIAL PDF. Note: please choose the download option (arrow & line) to download. Do not choose 'share' as this just sends me an e-mail. Here are pics from the tute so you can see what's included, but don't save them as they're just small versions of the actual doc. Thanks for visiting & I hope you like my card. Please check out all the Just Add Ink fab team's creations here & try the challenge too - you can never have too many masculine card ideas. Please leave some comment love & pin the card if you like my card. Here's a combined pinnable image if you do. Back soon! CARD I need to have a moment of silence and reflection on the fact that the Lovely as a Tree stamp set is retiring. I have been a demonstrator for 15-1/2 years and this set is older then me. One of my first stamp sets. So versitle. Works for every occasion. I'm very sad to see it go. This is a great example of a masculine / Father's Day card created with the set. It's layered on strips of the retiring Wood Textures Designer Paper.
I've had several requests to create some masculine cards. So, tonight's Facebook Live is featuring the Waterfront stamp set. In my opinion, it is perfect for masculine cards. I created two greeting cards. The sentiment is from the Label Me Bold stamp set. It can be changed to a sentiment suitable for Father's Day. I water colored the background with Seaside Spray ink using an AquaPainter. I also included a treat holder that holds a package of pistachios. If you would like to have these three make and takes sent to you for FREE, please place a minimum $35 online

Here's my card for the sketch at MFTWSC160. I dug deep into my stash of retired papers and used some masculine colors and patterns along with an old vintage car image from clear art stamps. I colored the image with ink and a blending pen, (yep, I still have one of those!) and made the sentiment with my Quickutz. The finishing touch was adding some candi dots and I can add this one to my masculine stash for father's day cards. This card was made using the Mod Squad Challenge which is to use "wood" on your card. I don't have any actual wooden elements, but I used some woodgrain dsp and used a fun image where the hens and frog are sitting on a log. The papers are all leftover snippets from "on the bright side two" by MME and I matted everything with scraps of dark teal cardstock. I added some googlie eyes to the frog just for fun, and the tiny banners were done with a SU! banner blast punch. Since this card was made with snippets, I'm headed over to the Snippets Playground #108 to have some fun with the other players. Thanks so much for stopping by, and I may have more later today since I've been cooped up in the house with all the snow and bitter cold weather. What else is there to do but stamp and make cards? Have a fabulous day!! Carol

Hi everyone, Welcome to my blog today. Thanks so much for popping in to see me. Today I am participating in a Father's Day blog hop - hoping to bring you lots of inspiration for your Father's Day projects. Once again I turned to the Handsomely Suited stamp set and coordinating Suit and Tie die set to make my card - these sets are so great for masculine cards. I stamped three ties in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then coloured them with Night of Navy, Real Red and Smoky Slate Blends. For the sentiment, which is from the same set (although I cut off the "handsome" bit!!) I embossed it in white on Night of Navy card stock and die cut it with one of the new Tailor Made Tags dies - love these - going to be one of my favourites I think! The background paper is from Well Suited DSP pack - this is a really great pack of papers. I'll be back with a video tutorial to show you how I made my card really soon. Hope you like my card. Hi everyone.... Laurie here with a Father's Day card featuring Tutti's Tool Frame, which looks like this: It's perfect for square cards, but I cut it apart to use for an A2 card with Tutti's scalloped stitched and dotted nesting rectangles. I cut out the frame in grey and yellow, and did some paper piecing. Then I used just pieces of the tool frame around my sentiment, and added some enamel dots. I love how versatile the die is! One of my favourite sets in the Stampin' Up! 2017 Occasions Catalogue for masculine cards is the retiring Nailed It bundle. Here's a Father's Day card made using the Nailed It stamp set. To create this card I started with a Stampin' Up! Basic Black card base and adhered a layer of Urban Underground Designer Series Paper (DSP) on top. I then took a smaller piece of Very Vanilla card stock and using my Stampin' Write Markers, directly coloured the various tool stamps. When using this marker direct to stamp technique, don't forget to 'huff/breathe' onto your stamp to reactivate the ink just before stamping. I then cut the Very Vanilla card stock diagonally and adhered it to the card base with some additional DSP trim too. The Happy Father's Day sentiment was again stamped using the marker direct to stamp technique. Some linen thread, DSP flags and Urban Underground embellishments completes the card. All products used on this card have been listed below - just click on the picture and it will take you to my online shop where they can be viewed and purchased if still available. Workshops and papercrafting classes are available - please contact me for details. If you enjoy papercrafting and the Stampin' Up! products you may want to consider joining my team. Yes you read it right !! A Father's Day card ! I am so in advance for this year !! I might even get some Christmas cards made this year........... This is so not like my cards Caitlyn asked me if I had really made it !!! Cheeky!! You know when you just have this urge to use an item and create well that's what happened to me and this was the result! I used the Cut Mat Create 1A die to make the card and layered it with the co-ordinating 1B die from Heartfelt Creations. I also used the smaller rectangle dies from the 1B set on the papers. The papers are from Celebrate the Journey Paper Pad, sentiment is from the Classic Message set both from Heartfelt Creations. I inked the edges with Memento Rich Cocoa ink. The stars are from Crafter's Companion and the letters are Spellbinders. I layered the papers and stars with 3D Foam pads. So, Isabella's card for Chris is all ready for Father's Day! Right........... best go and do some work!! Happy crafting!
Hello stampers, Happy Frenzy Friday! I hope you've had a better week than I have, we are on record to be the coldest February ever recorded just a few more days until we say good-bye to that & hopefully start warming up a bit. On top of that, I think anything I touched yesterday just went flying- picked up marker case to move it & there goes markers, tried putting stamps cases on a shelf they came tumbling down (so happy they were mostly the photopolymer stamps!) luckily I didn't pick up anything breakable, would've hated trying picking all that up. Hoping today will be a bit better & I get a chance to stamp! I've realized I don't have a lot of current masculine type stamps anymore, which isn't good when you need a few to make cards for the men in your life, good thing they don't know that most of what they get is retired. However, I did just buy the Guy Greetings Stamp Set in the Occasions catalog, so we'll see how if I like the set better in person than in the catalog, at least I have a few examples that I've liked out on the web. As you may have guessed with my rambling, I made a masculine card for today's sketch using the Guy Greetings Stamp Set. I stamped the car from the set onto Very Vanilla Card Stock using the Memento Black Ink Pad, than coloring the car with Crumb Cake Blendabilities & the Basic Black Marvelous Marker. I then punched that the car out with the 2 1/2" Circle Punch, then backed it with Early Espresso Card Stock which was cut out using the Starburst Framelits. For the 2nd layer, I ran Very Vanilla Card Stock through the Big Shot to dry emboss that piece using the Argyle TIEF, this piece was then adhered to the Early Espresso Card Stock base. For the banners I fussy cut a 1/2" piece of Early Espresso, Soft Suede & Crumb Cake Card Stock, adding some of the words from the above set to the final banner & adhered them to the embossed piece. Once all that was put together, I added the car piece using Stampin' Dimensionals. Voila! This week's sketch was created by Kim Innis, Hop on over to the SFF blog & check out what the other team members did. Better yet, make your own card based on the sketch below & add your link to this week's challenge. Happy sketching & enjoy your weekend! ~Enjoy All supplies are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted.
