As most of you know our class has been doing a unit on love this month. Well, my class kiddos are older so we don't do crafts very often, but they really enjoyed this one. Even my twelve year olds were running to show there parents what they made after church. ~All You Need Is~ Note:I recommend buying the super cheep flimsy plates, because they're easier to cut. This is a suuuuuper simple craft. All you have to do is, 1. Fold the plate and cut a heart in the center. Then fold it forward so the heart stands up. 2. Let the kids decorate it. Note: I recommend writing a verse on it first just to tie it in with a lesson. And then....TA DA! It's a heart hat! It's really that simple. This is a such a super fun and easy craft. I hope it goes over as well in your class as it did in mine! On a side note...I found this heart hat idea from alphamom.com...it's a neat website for all you parents out there.
With Valentine’s Day coming up, I wanted to do some activities with the kids for them to understand about God’s love. I started with Jackson. Jesus is the light of the world, so I thought a sun catcher with hearts and a bible verse would be perfect. Materials Needed: Suncatcher Template Black Sharpie Hole punch Stapler Scissors Glue stick Red and pink construction paper Contact paper Red yarn Craft Instructions: First, use the template to create a heart on red construction paper. After tracing the heart, put 2 pieces of red construction paper together and cut out the heart. Once the heart is cut out, fold the papers in half and cut out the center of the heart so that you have to heart outlines. Then take the template and make a heart on the contact paper. Fold the contact paper in half and staple all around the heart so that when you cut it out, the hearts will be Continue Reading

A Child's Lover Letter To God is a free printable coloring page perfect for a church lesson on loving God.I created it for a St. Valentine's Day-themed lesson in my church, Awana Kids Club. It is a perfect craft time activity. After you teach a lesson on Loving God or God's love, the children can color the pictures and finish the sentences. The sentence starters help younger children who do not grasp abstract terms. A WORD ABOUT PRINTING If you have problems printing, CLICK HERE to visit my how-to-print page for helpful suggestions. If you want to make changes, you can use white-out and write in different statements or leave the sentence starters out entirely. If you save it to your computer, you should be able to use simple software to leave the sentences blank or create ones more suited to your needs. I left large areas blank so the kids can decorate it with stickers since they will be working in groups, and some will finish ahead of others, and then the youth helpers will be able to focus on those who need help printing or thinking of responses. There are a lot of ways this can be colored. If you print it on card stock, it can take wetter mediums like watercolor or markers. There are a lot of hearts and leaves, a border, and embellishments to color. When you support my Bible art with a monthly pledge of only $3.50, you will receive a printable kid's Bible activity magazine every week. Do you ever wonder how God feels about you? The bible says that God is good and he loves us. My whole life I have struggled to view God as a loving Father. I can easily view him as an angry God--passionate with righteous indignation. Or a warrior God fighting for whats right. I can see Him as an awesome God, who created the heavens and earth...but a loving God? I struggle to comprehend. Yet, I believe that I am made in God's image, and this desire I have for people to know that they are loved, yes, that comes from God, because HE LOVES US!! More than we can comprehend. His love is vastly wide, long, high and deep for us. (Ephesians 3:18-19) So I set out to find God's Valentines to us in the Bible, to share during the month of February. God gifted me with a desire to be creative, so I got my Modpodge, and colored card stock out (thanks to my craft supply hoarding) and made some pretty juvenile looking Valentines to share with you all! Some of the affirmations have been ingrained in my heart over the years from Sunday school, some of them were honestly things that I hope God feels for us, and maybe one of them was a romcom joke ;) I made a long list of all of these affirmations and then set out to find them in the bible. I found these 20 verses and I am sharing a round up with you here. 1. You are not Forgotten Isaiah 49:15-16 “Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has born? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me. 2. You are Mine Isaiah 43:1 But now, this is what the Lord says— he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. 3. You are Beautiful Ecclesiastes 3:11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart... 4. You are Loved John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 5. I celebrate you Luke 15:23-24 Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let’s have a feast and celebrate. For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ So they began to celebrate. 6. I choose you Thessalonians 1:4 For we know, brothers and sisters loved by God, that he has chosen you, 7. You are wonderful Psalm 139:14 ...I am fearfully and wonderfully made... 8. You have purpose Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. 9. You complete Me 1 John 4:12 No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. 10. I will dry your tears Revelation 21:3–4 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling of God is with humanity, and he will take up residence with them, and they will be his people and God himself will be with them. And he will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death will not exist any longer, and mourning or wailing or pain will not exist any longer. The former things have passed away.” 11. You are known 1 Samuel 16:7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” 12. You are forgiven Psalm 103:12 as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. 13. You are precious Isaiah 43:4 Since you are precious and honored in my sight, and because I love you, I will give people in exchange for you, nations in exchange for your life. 14. I hope you dance Jeremiah 31:4 Once again I will rebuild you. Once again you will take up your tambourines and dance joyfully. 15. You are valuable Matthew 10:29-31 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. 16. You are royal 1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 17. You are seen Genesis 16:13 She gave this name to the Lord who spoke to her: “You are the God who sees me,” for she said, “I have now seen the One who sees me.” 18. I am always with you Matthew 28:20 “...And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” 19. I delight in you Zephaniah 3:17 The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” 20. You are wanted Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. So I discovered, yes, God does love us, in simple words. And there is no greater love. John 15:13

Happy Heart Day, folks! I have been far from blogland lately, but I'm trying to make my way back. I got a heat press. OMG! I love it. How did I ever live without it? Needless to say, I've been playing a lot. (And happily working a lot on orders!) I have several things to share with you..... I've seen these little bags all over the FB groups I belong to, so I figured why not try them? I got the bags at Michael's and the hearts from Dollar Tree. I hadn't seen any with a religious twist, but when I saw this phrase online, I knew I had to do it. In each bag, I put 5 red hearts and 5 pink hearts. It's a little hard to see, but the arrow is glitter vinyl. Sooooo pretty! I love it. When I ordered my heat press, I got a deal where I ended up with quite a few colors of HTV (heat transfer vinyl) and this is my first try at glitter. A word or advice - You need a sharp blade to get a good cut on the glitter HTV. This brand (Siser) is really thick. It cut very well, but took a few tries to get the right blade settings on my Silhouette. I'll show you one more project for today... I made these for my hubby for valentines day! They are boxer briefs. I saw this idea online and couldn't help myself. Now, I will say I made two more pair, but they were a little risque, so I decided not to share them here so as not to offend anyone! But, hey, I'm married - it's legal! LOL! Anyway, I'm just having a fantastic time with this new toy. I'm sure I'll share more heat projects soon. Toodles! Cheryl
