Hi again, I made this card a little while ago for a friend's birthday. It's a similar layout to the one I made using alcohol inks, although this time I used an embossing folder to frame the fronds. I'm linking up to the challenge at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday where it's an anything goes theme. Materials used: Memory Box delicate fern die; distress inks; stately embossing folder; sentiment sticker. Thanks for visiting, Cathy x

Forever Fern is such a versatile stamp set! You can change up the colors to fit any season or occasion. Obviously I'm smitten, looking back at all the different cards I've created with it! For this card I stamped the images in Rich Razzleberry, Bumblebee, Pumpkin Pie & Cinnamon Cider. The sentiment is embossed on Rich Razzleberry cardstock. The gold accents are cut from Brushed Metallic cardstock. Hi Stampers! Today we’ll take an “In Detail” look at the WILD FERNS BUNDLE from the Stampin’ Up!®️ January - April 2024 Mini Catalog. This is a bundle you might have overlooked. I certainly did the first couple of times I looked through the catalog. I feel this bundle would work well with the Nature’s Sweetness Suite. WILD FERNS is a die bundle containing 10 cling stamps and 13 dies. The stamp set includes 5 images and 5 greetings. The die set includes 4 dies that cut out the 4 fern images in the stamp set, 3 label dies that coordinate with the greetings, and 6 dies the cut out accent pieces. For today’s sample cards I chose to create cards with a white on white theme. I feel the simplicity of the white really compliments the stamped and die cut ferns. Let’s look at the cards: WILD FERNS STAMP SET WILD FERNS DIES VIDEO WILD FERNS & WHITE ON WHITE CARDS FIDDLEHEAD FERN THANK YOU SUPPLIES FOR THIS CARD * Wild Ferns Bundle * Card base - Basic White cardstock 8 1/2” x 5 1/2” scored and folded at 4 1/4” * Mat - Basic White cardstock 5 1/4” x 4” (emboss with embossing folder) * Focal image - Basic White cardstock - 3 7/8” x 2” * Greeting - Basic White cardstock scrap (stamp greeting, then die cut with smallest label die) * Inks - GrannyApple Green and Crumb Cake * Softly Sophisticated embossing folder or embossing folder of choice * Embellishments - Classic Matte Dots - White three (1 large, 2 small) * Adhesive and dimensionals ASSEMBLY * For the focal piece - stamp the background with Crumb Cake ink that has been “stamped off” once. Ink the feen image with the Granny Apple Green ink, and stamp it over the background. * Stamp the greeting using Crumb Cake ink. * Emboss the mat and die cut the greeting. * Adhere the mat to the card base, use dimensionals to adhere the focal panel and greeting to the card front. * Add the Matte Dots to the focal panel. WISHING YOU WELL WITH FERNS SUPPLIES FOR THIS CARD * Wild Ferns Bundle * Card base - Basic White cardstock - 8 1/2” x 5 1/2” scored and folded at 4 1/4” * Mat - Basic White cardstock - 5 1/4” x 4” (emboss with embossing folder) * Greeting - Basic White cardstock (die cut with largest label die) * Old Olive cardstock to die cut fern images (the two dies with the ferns and edges for adhesive) * Ink - Copper Clay * Embossing folder - (Stripes & Spatters) Stripes or embossing folder of choice * Embellishment - Brushed Brass Butterflies - 3 - 1 large and two small * Adhesive (I used liquid glue) and dimentionals ASSEMBLY * Stamp the greeting with the Copper Clay ink * Die cut the greeting and then use the two fern dies to cut the images from Old Olive cardstock * Use the embossing folder and emboss the mat. The mat will need to be embossed in two parts. I explain this in the video above. * Adhere the mat to the card base, adhere the two fern pieces to the back of the greeting. Use dimentionals to adhere the greeting piece to the card base. No need to attach the ferns, just put dimensionals on the back of the greeting. * Add the Brushed Brass Butterflies. WHITE ON WHITE WILD FERNS CARDS That is all for today. Thank you so much for stopping by. Until next time . . . Stamp Happy! Hello on a Monday! I hope you're all well. Even though my posts have been scant, I haven't fallen off the face of the earth. Our home improvement projects are taking up most of my time, but we're currently on somewhat of a break before everything is turned upside down for the floors. I'm stamping while I can, and trying to get other things done, as well. Please bear with me, friends! I finally sat down to play with my Stampin' Up Forever Fern set. By the time I bought it I'm sure everyone had had enough of looking at it, but that was a long time ago... it's been in my NBUS basket for quite a while. It really is the most lovely stamp set and I'm glad I took a turn. I started out with the Split Four Technique, but after the initial stamping I added more here and there. I needed to enhance my stash of sympathy cards, so each card has a beautiful old SU sentiment on the front with a nice sympathy message inside. I'm still using my original SU inks, which are listed in the recipe at the end. To attain a more saturated ink color I re-stamped two or three times using my old Stamp-A-Ma-Jig for assistance. The cardstock bases are in matching colors. All bases were embossed with the SU Subtle embossing folder for texture. Just a couple of extra pictures... The gold cord on the card below helps to disguise a stem that was floating in mid-air. The sentiment on this card may appear black in the picture, but is, in fact, Handsome Hunter. These old colors still serve a purpose. I have all the reinkers, too, so I'll be using them until the pads wear out. In almost 20 years I've had only one pad wear out, and that's because I was abusing it by rubbing it on background stamps. The next card is the result of dropping a stamp in the middle of the white space, sheesh. I almost discarded the whole piece, but decided to cover it up instead. It seemed a bit too busy at first, but it's growing on me. I quite like it, actually. So there you have it. We need to talk about how the current Feedburner email subscription service is going away. I'm too preoccupied to wrap my head around the issue right now, but I still recommend Feedly for following blogs. See options in my sidebar. If there's something I can fix about the emails, I will certainly do that. July 1st is the deadline. Lastly, I'm popping my cards over to Darnell's NBUS Challenge #26 (never before used schtuff). She gets a lot of entries! Thanks for visiting with me today. Hugs all around! Stamps: SU Forever Fern, SU All Year Cheer (2002) Paper: SU Whisper White, Brocade Blue, So Saffron, Soft Sage Ink: SU Brocade Blue, So Saffron, Soft Sage, Creamy Caramel, More Mustard, Handsome Hunter Other: Gold Cord, SU Subtle embossing folder for card bases, Scotch brand foam mounting tape

Hey Crafty Friends!!! Sorry for taking so long to put up another post, things have been a bit whacky at the Peck household. Today, I am sharing a technique card with video demonstration. I used out White Craft ink to dry brush an embossed layer. They I mixed a bit of WInk of Stella (for all my friends that love sparkle) with the craft ink and splattered it on. My card is intended for an Autumn birthday, but it would work well as a Thanksgiving or Christmas card. The ribbon I used on this card is retired, in my products list I will recommend a replacement. Hi Everyone! I have been enjoying the Forever Fern set for several days now! It is just so pretty. The whole suite is beautiful and I can't wait to share it with you when the catalog goes live in just a little over a week from now. While I can't show you the catalog images I can show you the stamps I have in hand, so here they are. There is also a gorgeous collection of papers and embellishments that go with this suite, and I will show all that off in another video on Wednesday. For now, I wanted to focus on the stamps. I have a short video showing how to make all three versions of the card. For this trio of cards I started with the simple Stampin' version. This version is a simple, inexpensive and easy to make card. The card is flat, easy to mail, and does not require additional dies or a die cutting machine. The Distinctive stamps make the card lovely all on their own. I used Pear Pizzazz and Pretty Peacock inks as well as Pretty Peacock and Whisper White Cardstock. This next version is stepped up a bit with the addition of the coordinating die collection as well as some gold twine. The die cut pieces are popped up on Dimensionals, as is the Pretty Peacock sentiment piece. This final version adds more sparkle to the card with the addition of the Laser cut gold leaves and the gems from the Flowers for every season collection. What ever version of this card you make, it is sure to bring a smile to the recipient. I hope you come back Wednesday to see the whole Forever Greenery Suite of products. Have you been seeing a lot of sneak peeks and wish you could get your hands on some of these new products now? You can! Hello and welcome, It's time for another Colour INKspiration Challenge #83 and this gorgeous picture was chosen by Colour INKspiration Crew Member Nikki Spencer. As well as the chosen colour combination for #CI83 are Bumblebee, Mossy Meadow, Whisper White and Basic Black, you may also include Crumb Cake and metallics to your project. We also allow 'Ivory' and 'Bronze' in the Stampin' Blends. If you don't have all of the colour palette, feel free to use the closest Stampin' Up! substitute (ie: Crushed Curry instead of Bumblebee you.. get the drift). We hope you can participate this round and we look forward to seeing a variety of projects using the challenge colours. Please ensure that your project is NEW and specifically for this challenge. #CI83 will run for almost TWO weeks and will end at 7pm (AEST) on Monday August 24th. For my card I've used the Forever Fern Bundle and including those gorgeous Gold Hoop Embellishments. I'm just loving those Hoops so much! I've also used the medium Daisy Punch, punched out three times in Whisper White Cardstock, sponged Bumblebee Ink with a Sponge Dauber and added tiny dots for the center of the Daisy using the Stampin' Write Marker. The challenge colours for the foliage remind me of the Australian Native Bush, like the Australian Wattle Tree. I've added one of the wooden leaves from the In Good Taste Elements. Giving the card a natural earthy look about it. Before layering all of the elements to the card, I've placed the panel of Whisper White Cardstock to the panel of Basic Black Cardstock and then adding the Bumblebee Gingham Ribbon to the two panels. Once everything was added, I've used thick Whisper White Cardstock for the card base. The sentiment is from the Best Year Stamp Set which is from the Annual Stampin' Up! 2020 - 2021 Catalogue and can be found on page 133. I really love the two different fonts in the text. Well I hope I've inspired you to come and join in on the #CI83 challenge. Here's the link to our Colour INKspiration Challenges Facebook Group. Not a member? All you need to do is answer the three questions and we will accept you into the group. Hope to see you there. Happy Crafting Vicki Boucher

Hi friends, The Wild Ferns Bundle (#162655) used on today’s card consists of the Wild Ferns stamp set (#162648) and the Wild Ferns dies (#162654). The bundle will be retiring, however the stamp set and dies will still be available in the next catalogue, just not as a bundle. Some of these ferns bring back memories of when I was growing up and these ferns grew on various parts the farm. I stamped the leaves with Old Olive ink (#147090), Garden Green ink (#147089), Cajun Craze ink (#147085 and Cherry Cobbler ink (#147083). These were all cut with the Wild Ferns dies. I dry embossed a piece of Old Olive card (#106576) with the Timber 3D Embossing Folder (#156406) and punched the V’s at each end with a retired Triple Banner Punch. The Very Vanilla card front (#106550) was dry embossed with the Ferns 3D Embossing Folder (#158804). I wrapped the Burlap Ribbon from the Real Red & Burlap Ribbon Combo Pack (#160386) around the card front and attached the card front to the Very Vanilla base card. “Thinking Of You” is from the Go To Greetings stamp set (#158763) and stamped with Old Olive ink. The sentiment and the Crumb Cake card (#121685) under the sentiment were cut with the Wild Ferns dies. This was attached to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals (#104430). The ferns were attached to the card with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals (#144108) and Mini Glue Dots (#103683). The retiring products are the Burlap Ribbon and the Go To Greetings stamp set. “Love what you do and share what you love.” INSPIRE. CREATE.
