Il fait froid le matin et l'on commence à penser à ce qu'il faudra bientôt tricoter pour couvrir ses mains, son cou et ses oreilles. Les poires dorées sont encore suspendues à leurs branches, les pêches roses et blanches dégringolent sur le chemin et les framboises se laissent grappiller à l'heure du goûter. Il flotte dans l'air comme des envies de tartes aux prunes, de confitures épicées et de laine bien moelleuse. Cette petite chose pointue commence comme un châle, sur quatre mailles et après quelques mailles relevées pour débuter, se tricote sans couture aucune jusqu'à la pointe du front. Des mailles glissée pour resserrer légèrement le tour du cou, des jetés et des diminutions centrées pour poursuivre la ligne de la bordure, tout en donnant de l'ampleur cette fois-ci, et une ligne centrale qui court de la nuque au front pour créer cette pointe entre le heaume et le bonnet de lutin. Une sorte de friandise à tricoter en quelque sorte !
