This mummy mask of fine white clay (with frequent temper voids) depicts a male figure wearing a tightly curled wig comprised of applied as individually modelled strands that were painted black. The eyes are inlays of white and black glass. Traces of paint suggest a dark yellow to light brown color for much of the mask with remaining segments of brownish bands at the neck likely indicating a painted necklace/collar. Some fragments have been chipped away from the lower edges.

Ready to Mail! Perfect for faires and festivals, this two-piece leather costume set in pink and black, evokes a creature from the realms of Faery. Crafted of flexible 3/4 oz veg tanned leather, and hand painted in pink, black, and metallic gold acrylic, the mask and headband ears are clear coated for water resistance, and are light and comfortable. The adjustable mask elastics may be worn under a wig if you wish, The narrow metal headband, worn over the wig, hides easily under a bit of hair. The ears are shaped to fit around the top and back of your ears, but their slight weight is carried by the headband, so they remain comfortable. (When worn by a human, the ear band fits close to the head; my models head is just a bit smaller than a real head. The last three photos show the model wearing first only the mask, then only wearing the ear band.) Enjoy the mischief only a fairy can create! Your own Midsummer Night's Dream is close at hand. General Mask Info: I create my leather masks personally, and by hand, from the beginning to the end. I begin with an idea; a character or creature that intrigues me. I am often inspired by old stories and myths, as well as science fiction and fantasy themes. After working up the idea on paper, I cut it out of simple veg-tanned leather. Next, I use water and heat to sculpt the leather shape into three dimensions. I airbrush, hand paint, or rub with leather dyes, depending on the design, and seal it with a clear, flexible acrylic top coat for durability and moisture resistance. (However, the masks are not waterproof, and shouldn't be worn in heavy rain.) I generally add felt lining at the bridge of the nose and along the brow for comfort, and sometimes pad pressure points. The double strand of black elastic is secured by grommets set into the leather. It can be adjusted if necessary, and has ends finished with coordinated beads, usually glass. Also, as their artist, I sign and number each mask on the inside.

Hand designed using a non hardening clay, then molded into a hard copy plaster, then molded again using a silicone rubber mold for a hard backing. Hand cast into that silicone rubber using water,a fine sand and cement mix, demolded, hand colored using a mix of concrete color, then hand detailed using my finest metal instruments and sealed with a water based sealer for an authentic look and feel. This beautiful butterfly lady was inspired by the masks used in the parades and Carnival in Brazil, Italy. She was made in clay in late fall of 2014. She looks like a star in her mask as her big, starry eyes brightly peers out of her mask, which is intricately detailed with a butterfly like detailing and lilies cascading down her face. Her hair is long as each strands flows from the top of her head to the bottom of her chin. She was a pleasure to sculpt in clay. She looks great hung or mounted on plaster walls indoors in a bathroom, bedroom, hallway, etc. She looks just as beautiful outdoors hung on a metal trellis or fence, a wooden fence, brick or stone wall. I have embedded a galvanized wire hook in back for easy hanging or mounting on any surface. Made to withstand extreme hot and cold temperatures outdoors. Measures "13.5"H by "6"W by "2"D and weighs approx. 6 lbs. Makes a unique gift for a special someone for birthday, housewarming, Mothers Day, etc. PLEASE CONTACT SELLER FOR A QUOTE TO SHIP TO INTERNATIONAL LOCATIONS, I.E UK, AUSTRALIA, ASIA, ETC.
