Description: ——————— Imperial Plumbago is my favorite plant. As a fast-growing perennial shrub, it’s an ideal accent plant for landscape, container and trellis or border cover. Minimum care and fast to grow, drought and heat tolerant, pest and disease resistant. Plumbago produces large cluster of beautiful blue flowers. Blooms most of the year in warm weather. It makes me feel so cool in hot summer. Growth Habit: mounding and climbing. Growth Height: 3-4 feet tall & 2-3 feet wide. Sunlight: Full Sun; or half sun Water: Regularly; Soil Conditions: Adaptable to a variety of soils Decorative accent: great small tree urban and suburban areas; deck or patio; container or planter Hardiness Zone: 8-11. You will receive organic fresh healthy stem cuttings for propagation. Propagation instructions -——————— After years of experiences, I highly recommend you to use vermiculite as the propagation medium since it retains water very well and blocks bacterias to grow. To purchase Vermiculite for stem propagation: https://www.etsy.com/MalibuSucculents/listing/874028056/2-cups-vermiculite-medium-sizebestutm_source=Copy&utm_medium=ListingManager&utm_campaign=Share&utm_term=so.lmsm&share_time=1637852750393 1. Insert stems into Moist Vermiculite or sterilized potting soil Pot the plumbago cutting in a 4-inch plastic pot (holes in bottom) filled with clean, moist vermiculite or soil. Make sure both sets of exposed growth nodes are below the soil-surface. Firm the soil against the stem. Put the pot in a shallow tray, keep the tray with .5”water daily. 2. Cover With a Plastic Bag or germinate cover Cover the pot with a plastic bag, cut a 1” hole on the top of plastic bag. The bag will help hold moisture around the plumbago cuttings. Set the pot on an east-facing windowsill or outdoors in a bright, sheltered location. Shield it from direct sunlight. Keep in shade for at least two months. 3. Keep the vermiculite or Soil Moist Moisten the soil if it dries out in the top and mist the plumbago cutting everyday to keep the foliage hydrated. Lift the plastic bag for an hour or so if excess condensation forms inside. If the air moisture lever is over 50% outside, leave stems uncovered during night. 5. Check for Roots Check for roots in eight weeks by gently tugging or pulling on the base of the plumbago stem; if it feels firmly stuck to the soil, it has rooted. Remove the plastic bag after rooting and continue to mist the cutting for couple weeks. 6. Transplant into the Garden or larger pot Transplant the plumbago in fall. Choose a sunny area.
