I was hoping to get three more bookmarks done before Saturday. Well, I managed two, but don't know about the third. I had to go into the Pain Clinic today for an injection and it took them 3 tries to find a vein for the IV...sheesh! Not sure the resulting swelling/bruising is going to let me get the last one finished (it is started though...started it last night watching an Encore presentation of the Beatles Special) In the mean time, here you go.... This bookmark is missing the last row, which I very seldom ever add. This bookmark is based on a bookmark posted by an InTatters member. My own stitch counts though. To me, it looks like a rotated version of Jane's Bookmark using Lock Chains between elements. The last bookmark, should I get it finished is my pattern for the Twisted Celtic Clovers Bookmark, done in Ocean Turquoise and Daffodil Yellow. (Oh, I'm SO ready for Spring! Can you tell? lol)

The years passed quickly. I’m still surprised how long the shuttles lay quiet in the drawer. There were some tatting accomplishments along the way which were unreported. This post rewinds to show the final destination for the ‘Edge Without a Cause’. The edging found a home on my great niece’s christening/baptism gown. It was a beautiful time for our family. The edge was temporarily affixed to the gown. My DSL wants to create a different gown with hand made lace throughout. I hope y’all have a great day.
Happy May Day Does anyone celebrate May Day anymore? Last Sunday, at Church, one of the little boys was looking at his song bird and thought it was a butterfly. Explaining butterflies has four wings, not two. So, I asked him if he wanted a butterfly on a paperclip. This was simple to design, using size 20 thread.

There is so much to be said for the art of taking some thread and making something pretty with it. The fact is, though many girls and women shy away from such art as they feel it is old fashioned, the fact is that such things are always in fashion and such skills are always to be valued. Just look at vintage crochet patterns and how pretty they are even today and you will know what we are talking about. In fact we can go back even a bit further and talk about the types of fabrics that are remarkable to know how much art lies in the simple art of garment making and designing.
