About The iconic Presidencial is a series composed of a sofa and armchair designed by Jorge Zalszupin (1922-2020) in 1959 and produced by his company, L'atelier. The piece is made of molded laminate wood. Presidencial armchairs and sofa take advantage of molded laminate to create a light, organic structure that elegantly welcomes voluminous cushions. Much more than rationalizing design, Zalszupin focused mainly on the acquisition and use of new technologies and materials to make series production viable. This focus on new technologies and materials meant a path to the aesthetic freedom that he desired so much, and the molded laminated rosewood allowed the designer to execute the longed-for curves without necessarily implying the adoption of long and expensive manual processes. These pieces are in very good vintage condition, and present rare feet in Rosewood - these details appear more commonly in chrome. Armchairs are in their original condition and received new upholsteries in suede.

About Mood sofa is part of the New Malabar's collection, future Classic. Alexander Rodchenko, considered one of the founders of the Constructivism movement, sought new art forms and modes of making art. Art, Alexander believed, had no place in the hermetic space of the artist’s studio. Instead, it should reflect the modern. Rodchenko’s work was heavily influenced by Cubism and Futurism, which featured geometric forms deployed against a white background. Inspired by this movement and its famous realistic abstraction art painting, Malabar designers conceived this future Classic sofa. Define your living room décor with the mood sofa that can be tailored to your design space and taste. Structured in walnut wood by our expert artisans and upholstered in cotton velvet, this modular sofa features a lacquered feet and three pillows. With carefully balanced proportions, its modular design and comfortable ottomans ensure that the mood sofa becomes a focal point of your decor. About A unique, material-driven sculptural chair by Ian Spencer and Cairn Young of Yard Sale Project, Black Tongue explores unprecedented forms in wood. The wood is finished using the shou-sugiban method, an ancient Japanese finishing technique that preserves wood by charring it with fire. In addition to being aesthetically striking and elegant, the chaise is rot, pest, weather, UV light, and fire resistant. At once inspired by and made to support the human form, the French walnut hand-carved chair evokes a sleek, curving body. The chaise’s smooth surface highlights the wood’s natural grain, reflecting light to reveal the wood’s beautiful, organic imperfections.

About The Bastone case piece collection, which consists of a cabinet and a sideboard, is designed by the master cabinet maker and designer Antrei Hartikainen for Poiat studio. Somewhere on the boundary of art and design, the collection showcases the designer's interest in studying light and shadow as well as the appreciation of functional craftsmanship in his works. In 2018, Antrei Hartikainen was nominated as the young designer of the year in Finland. The collaboration between Poiat and Antrei started in 2017 with the Fiori Coffee Table collection, which is a fusion of design, art and craftsmanship. The concept of Bastone collection derives from the dilemma between ornament and structure – the wooden dowel rods are an integral part of the structure but evidently they also create an ornamental effect to the exterior without being additionally applied. All this is achieved by utilizing round geometric shapes in the components, which alone have their own finesse and right proportions, yet become more important as parts of a whole. The exteriors of both the cabinet and the sideboard are partly open, partly covered by long and narrow wooden dowel rods. As light enters through the openings, the interior is revealed but also at the same time remains slightly concealed. The symmetric form enables the Bastone to retain its aesthetic look no matter which angle one looks at and making an open space the most natural setting for it. The product is shipped flatpacked and unassembled to avoid any damage during transportation. The material is solid oak with low sheen lacquer finish.
