Nature is the inspiration for these whimsical fused glass art pieces. The Garden series was born while working in my gardens contemplating life. I wondered how could I bring the beauty of my flowers into the homes of my clients? This is a unique fused glass art piece and is multifunctional which makes it an excellent gift idea. The beautiful design can be used as a tea light holder and sits on any table top or mantle sparkling with a lit candle. The dancing garden flower design around the shallow bowl also adds a joyful quality to any flower arrangement. Each piece is handmade in my studio and fired in an electric kiln, annealing the glass which makes it strong and durable. The variations in color can make each piece a custom order or can be as close to the original design as possible with slight variations as each one is handmade. The dimensions are as shown. Height 4 inches; Width 4 inches and Depth 3.5 inches

This piece was inspired by the beautiful Cornish fields that are vibrant every spring with bright yellow daffodils. The glass measures at 9x20cm. This piece is perfect for a mantel piece or on a window sill with the natural light going though the glass. All wave pieces spend 26 hours in the kiln needing two firings. This product is made in my home studio and as a result each piece may have slight differences.

Note to Buyers: Due to changing policies at Etsy, taxes are now INCLUDED in the price for Canadian Customers, and no additional taxes will be charged at checkout (Canadian customers only). Etsy does not give me a way to update the pricing for digital items for Canadian customers only, so my price has had to be increased across the board. Please complain to Etsy about this, as it affects not just me, but all Canadian small businesses and their customers! Welcome to the Secret of Kiln-Blown Glass! (Update - Over 100 copies sold! ) While I had originally intended this to be a video tutorial, I realized that when I’m learning something new I personally prefer to be able to read instructions and ideas so that I can easily go back and forth between photos, steps, and notes. With that in mind, I’ve decided to present my history and method for creating Kiln-Blown glass in a format that works for everyone, online and offline, is easy to use, and is easy to keep on hand in order to get it out into the world and into the hands of all the wonderfully creative and curious glass artists who have come across my work and wondered how I achieved this unique effect. With this 11 page digital .pdf file you can read how my technique came about, what it took to develop it, and all the steps involved in making your own Kiln-Blown glass artwork. I am incredibly grateful to you all for your continued interest and your support by purchasing this guide. It means the world to me to know that I’ve created something to pique your interest, challenge your skills, and hopefully help take your glass journey in new and interesting directions. I am always happy to talk shop, give classes, seminars, and share technical tips with other artists as passionate about glass as I am. It’s such an incredible medium with so much potential, I am always excited to see what the future holds. FAQ ABOUT KILNS AND GLASS CUTTING: While I do have a custom-built kiln with elements in the side only to really get the best effect from the technique : -YOU DO NOT NEED A CUSTOM KILN TO EXPERIMENT WITH THIS TECHNIQUE! (I'm stating this in bold letters for all those who don't bother to read the product description, are unwilling to get creative and experiment, and give this guide a low star rating for no discernable reason) I have seen great results from regular kilns with elements in the lid too. Every kiln, and every artist's setup is a little bit different, so even if you don't have the same kind of kiln and equipment, you can still explore the technique and find even more exciting things can can be done with it, using the equipment that you have. My original designs were also cut using a glass bandsaw (the Taurus 3): - but you can absolutely come up with designs that can be cut using a regular glass cutter and grinder that would also work with this technique! This tutorial is not about copying the work that I've done exactly, and more about gaining an understanding of how the technique works so you can get creative with it and create something amazing and new! Mostly, I encourage everyone to experiment, experiment, experiment. The more techniques you know about, the more new ideas you can apply to what you do, which can result in whole new techniques and beautiful new work! I also have another tutorial that works with ANY kiln to create frit-underpainted jewellery dishes using my decals! It's also available in the Guides & Tutorials section of my shop, and you can see pictures on my instagram account Publication Copyright Michelle Prosek 2020.
A small highly textured fused glass lightcatcher / hanger inspired by the Cornish coast and made in my cornish garden studio. 12 cm long by 5 cm glass with a nichrome hanging hook and rustic twine. Iridised green glass has been used on the headland which glimmers in the light. Due to its highly textured nature this item can be hung either against a window to catch the light or against a plain wall to reflect and glisten. Seagulls flying in the distance gives a calm atmosphere to this charming beach scene. Each hanger is handmade by myself so no two are identical, the one you receive may vary slightly in detail to the photographs. I make the scenes by layering crushed and powdered bullseye glass which is then fired in a specialist kiln for 13-15 hours. Each piece is wrapped carefully in biodegradable bubble wrap and recycled cardboard packaging to ensure safe delivery. Free uk Postage is included.
