The Story of America This ring is intended to symbolize what America means to you. You can carry that meaning with you and wear this ring proudly. To me, the American flag represents the best ideas humanity has discovered. There are three that rise above all others: freedom, opportunity, and equality. I would love to hear what the American flag means to you. I grew up in Miami, and my parents are Cuban, so when I visited Cuba in 2000 with my sister, parents, grandmother and aunt, I expected a nostalgic trip where I would be envious of their past. My family has been Cuban for centuries, but during that trip I did not feel any nostalgia for Cuba. What I felt was how shockingly American I am, and how proud I am to be American. It was as if no one on the island had ever read Animal Farm. P.S. Incidentally, my wife Sarah’s grandmother’s name was America, and I wanted to name my daughter America, but my wife wouldn’t let me. America raised 10 kids of her own and adopted 2 more. They all went to college and 3 served in the United States military. She was an amazing woman. My Favorite Parts of this Ring Throughout history, jewelry designers have been fascinated by the perfect juxtaposition of sapphires, rubies, and diamonds, and I am too. There is something special about being able to combine the beauty of these colors with the meaning of the American flag. You might think I am completely irreverent for turning each of the stones upside down and reverse-setting them for this design, but in the process, I was forced to create a new geometry to support the unfamiliar reflections of these typically hidden facets, which I believe led me to a complete design that feels perfectly classical. I must confess, I am in love with my Bonbon design. Small enough for every day, but significant enough to have recognizable power, every time I hold a Bonbon in my hand, I feel its magic, and I can’t help but smile. I chose to name this collection after my favorite chocolate confection, the bonbon, because I believe there is a special magic in exploring a box of exquisite chocolates. With each piece, there is the potential to find yourself in its unique flavor and reveal a special joy. My hope is that I can create Bonbons as diverse as your strengths, and that your Bonbon captures a little magic for you.

Fonte: Brasil Mineral/WIKI

Sterling Silver: Hypoallergenic Chain extenders for adjustability can be added upon request at an additional cost. ~~IMPORTANT~~ Be sure to double-check the shipping address before placing an order. Once orders have been shipped out, I cannot do anything to change the address. I hand-make each piece in my small home in North Carolina using genuine stones, nickel-free metals, and of course lots of love! Please keep in mind, the colors of stones may vary with different computer, tablet, and cell phone screens. Always treat pieces with love and care. Try not to get wet, and do not wear it while swimming or showering. Any dyed stones can "bleed" their color when exposed to excessive moisture.

The darker the body the more valuable to stone may be. It is this darkness that lends brightness to the other colours displayed with in the stone. Black and dark opal is the scarcest of all opal and comes from the mines of Lightning Ridge. Queensland Boulder Opal: Mined in the Outback of Queensland Australia our Opal comes from and variety of mining districts including - Winton, Koroit, Yowah, Eromanga, Jundah and Quilpie Boulder opal is a type of opal that forms within the cavities of ironstone boulders dating from the time when central Queensland was cover by an inland sea The Opal is found in both vertical and horizontal cracks or seams. It is cut with the ironstone remaining on the back and is classified as solid opal. Boulder Opal occurs over a Vast area of Western Queensland from North of Winton to south of Quilpie. Boulder Opal is considered to be one of the most versatile opals because it has all of the colour and patterns of expensive black or crystals opals but it is contained within the iron stone which makes it extremely durable. When looked at from the side you can always tell a genuine solid boulder opal by the natural uneven line where the opal filled the void in the boulder. White Opal: is also known as milky Opal and it has a pale white appearance with bright flashes of Opal colour. On the body tone and brightness chart the body colour of white Opal is N8 or N9. White Opal is capable of displaying any combination of spectral colours such as red, blue, purple and greens. The major difference between this type of Opal and the Black Opal is that white Opal tends to have a subdued play of colour since the body colour of the stone is light. In black Opal because the body is very dark the play of colour is much brighter. In terms of production the white Opal is by far the most plentiful. In Australia the majority of the opal produced comes from South Australia. There are three main South Australian opal mining fields these are Coober Pedy, Andamooka and Mintabie
