Polymer clay mosaic art is one of the crafts I never get tired of making. Polymer clay is incredibly versatile as it can be used in jewelry
Took a class this weekend at Mercury Mosaic's in Minneapolis. I've never worked with clay tiles before, it was very different from stained glass. Lots of fun! This was also the first time I smeared glue over a large area and transferred my tiles. A lot of my original design got lost towards the end and I was just sticking stuff where ever it fit. I much prefer gluing each piece individually.

The PDF includes a link to the tutorial, a list and images of the tools and materials needed for the project and some examples of how I use these flowers in my own work. Level of skill - Beginner onwards. Tools you will need: - Wheeled Mosaic Nippers, - Running Pliers, - Glass Cutter/Scorer, - Tweezers, - Masking Tape. Materials: - I have used 1-3 shades of each colour - Reds, Oranges and Yellows. - Green glass for the stems and leaves. You will also find a link to a full course which will show you step-by-step how to create your own garden mosaic. Starting with tools, the course includes cutting tutorials for Nasturtiums, Snowdrops, Daffodils, Salvia, Poppies, Foxgloves, and Sunflowers, how to build your mosaic and finishes with grouting and cleaning. The mirror reflects light back through the coloured glass keeping these mosaics bright and colourful no matter the location or weather. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions or need any help creating your own masterpiece.
