Under the thick foliage of the ancient forest of Yewdalaugh, nestled between burly oaks, graceful beeches and mystic rowans stands high the ancient and sacred black yew, the one who has seen the ages of fey, giants and men, the one who serves as home and livelihood for thousands of creatures and beings that inhabit the magical forest. There under it´s leaves and branches is where Frauleaf the master of the ancient ritual prays and intone his songs in praise of the old tree. As guardian of the sacred yew Frauleaf must make, every sunset, the ancient ritual of power stones. He must ensure that each and every one of them are in their correct position for the last rays of the king of the sky can bath directly on the sacred runes so the powerful and imposing black yew once again receives the necessary energy to continue to maintain the balance in the forest. Frauleaf owes everything to the old yew and old yew owes everything to him, as are an inseparable part one and the other. In the instant that Orook, The Pestilence of the land, sank the blade of his ax in the bark of the old yew, something tore in the world, a cry rose from the bowels of the earth and sprang up, like a tear from his wrinkled bark a single drop of sap bled, like ruby red. The sap slipped along the bark and fell on a small bud tender leaf that barely stretched in the lower branches of the yew and from that precious union Frauleaf was born, he was forever linked to the fate of the old yew. Yew never recovered from that wound, the stinking ax blade of Orook inoculated the infectious venom in the yew´s soul and Frauleaf day after day performes the ritual to maintain the soul of his father alive. They say that the black spirit of Orook still wanders through the undergrowth, ruminating his revenge, in the darkest part of the old forest where neither the powerful energy radiated by the power stones can find it´s way. Of course, all part of the legend .... is it? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Bajo el tupido follaje del milenario bosque de Yewdalaugh, cobijado entre fornidos robles, gráciles hayas y serbales se yergue el antiquísimo y sagrado tejo negro, aquel que ha visto pasar las edades de feéricos, gigantes y hombres, aquel que sirve de hogar y sustento a las miles de criaturas y seres que habitan el bosque mágico. Es allí donde Frauleaf el maestro del antiguo ritual entona sus cánticos y plegarias en alabanza al viejo árbol. Como guardián del tejo sagrado Frauleaf debe realizar, cada puesta de sol, el antiguo ritual de piedras de poder. Debe asegurarse de que todas y cada una de ellas se encuentren en su posición correcta para que los últimos rayos del astro rey incidan en las runas sagradas y el otrora poderoso e imponente tejo negro reciba fuerzas necesarias para seguir manteniendo el equilibrio en el bosque. Frauleaf le debe todo al viejo tejo y el viejo tejo le debe todo a él, pues son parte indisoluble el uno y el otro. En el instante en el que Orook, La pestilencia, hundió el filo de su hacha en la corteza del viejo tejo, algo se desgarró en el mundo, un alarido surgió de las entrañas de la tierra y brotó, como una lágrima, de su arrugada corteza una simple gota de savia, roja como el rubí. La savia al resbalar cayó sobre un pequeño brote de hoja tierna que apenas se desperezaba en las ramas bajas del tejo y de esa preciosa unión nació Frauleaf que quedó ligado para siempre al destino del viejo tejo. Tejo jamás se recuperó de aquella herida, la pestilente hoja del hacha de Orook inoculó su infecto veneno en el alma de Tejo y Frauleaf día tras día lleva a cabo el ritual para mantener viva el alma de su progenitor. Cuentan que el espíritu negro de Orook sigue errando entre la maleza, rumiando su venganza, en la parte más sombría del viejo bosque, donde ni la poderosa energía irradiada por las piedras de poder encuentra su camino. Claro está, todo forma parte de la leyenda.... ¿o no?
