There is a crucial aspect of feminine wisdom that has largely been lost in today's world—a “sacred feminine” which, if reclaimed, could help relieve a tremendous amount of conflict and suffering all across the planet. In this 13-part Goddess Returns series, acclaimed teachers Sally Kempton and Ken Wilber discuss one of the most powerful ways we can reconnect with this divine feminine: by invoking and internalizing the energetic qualities of eleven different Hindu goddesses.
Fortuna, Goddess of Abundance and Good Fortune, Art Print. All prints are approximately 8 X 10. Obviously, all art is not painted or drawn to be in the exact ratio of 8" X 10". Therefore, for the original to shrink proportionately, the length is almost always 10", but the width will vary from around 6" to 8". The art paper that the image is printed on, however, will always be exactly the standard size of 8 1/2" X 11". So when you frame the print, simply use a standard 8 1/2" X 11" frame of your choice. Hand-embellished with crystals and glitter. The print ships flat, with a sturdy backboard, in a protective poly-sleeve.

Associations and Other Names Fortuna, goddess of fortune and luck - both good and bad-
Fortuna is the goddess of fortune and the personification of luck in Roman religion who, largely thanks to the Late Antique author Boethius, remained popular through the Middle Ages until at least the Renaissance. The blindfolded depiction of her is still an important figure in many aspects of today's Italian culture, where the dichotomy fortuna / sfortuna plays a prominent role in everyday social life, also represented by the very common refrain "La [dea] fortuna è cieca" .

She was usually honoured in a more favourable light as Eutykhia (Eutychia), goddess of good fortune, luck, success and prosperity. Tykhe was depicted with a variety of attributes--holding a rudder, she was conceived as the divinity guiding and conducting the affairs of the world, and in this respect she was called one of the Moirai (Moirae, Fates); with a ball she represented the varying unsteadiness of fortune, unsteady and capable of rolling in any direction; with Ploutos (Plutus) or the cornucopia, she was the symbol of the plentiful gifts of fortune. Nemesis (Fair Distribution) was cautiously regarded as the downside of Tykhe, one who provided a check on extravagant favours conferred by fortune. The pair were often depicted as companions in Greek vase painting. In the vase painting (right) Nemesis (Indignation) with her arm around Tykhe (Fortune) points an accusing fingure at Helene, who Aphrodite has persuaded to elope with Paris.
